A fascinating contest for today's Quinte featuring (8) GOOD'S OF NORWAY. Although he didn't make an impact on his three previous forays in France this time he arrives on the back of two wins and a fifth place in a Group 2 contest. The main threat could come from (12) SHOGUN D.K. who was third twice last month. Others with chances include the Swedish-trained (11) DIGITAL COLLECTION and the erratic (14) KING SIR KIR.

Summary The Sylvain Marmion-trained (11) CALICIA DU SIRE has been placed nine times under the saddle without winning but in this company she has a decent chance of breaking her duck. Meslay-du-Maine winner (9) CHERIE GIRL LOVELY should play a part while (8) CAMILLE PHIL - runner-up Ranes last week - is another potential danger.

Summary

(15) CODE NOMIS caught the eye at Meslay-du-Maine earlier his month before winning at Brehal four days later. (1) CAMPO DELL ORO has been successful three times in Sweden this year and should figure in the shake-up.

Selections

(15) CODE NOMIS - (14) CEKOI - (1) CAMPO DELL ORO - (12) CASPER

16. DIVA - Scored for the third time this year when beating two of these at this track on July 7

Summary

Philippe Moulin's daughter of Rocklyn has a leading chance of further success if able to hold off (13) DAFFODIL JAB who was a good second at this venue last time. Selections

PORNICHET - 18th August

Trainer of the day : Franck Leblanc (114, 406, 405, 812)

Driver of the day : Jean-Michel Bazire (515, 610, 706, 806)

Horse of the day : Eden Basque (408)

Dark Horse : Andréafilou (308)

Race 1 1. APOLLON GEDE - Has failed to make the frame for the past 13 months and will have nothing to offer

2. VICOMTE DE CORVEIL - Yet to reach his peak this term but is still capable of making his way into the first five

3. VIC DU BOSSIS - Moderate sort that occasionally shows his good side but too infrequently to warrant much support

4. VISMUTINE - Completely off the boil in both codes since early 2016 and can expect to remain friendless

5. ANDA DE CIGNE - Has looked very modest this year and can be confidently disregarded

6. VULTUR CADENS - Appears to be getting back in shape. Sanctioned last time but nonetheless worth a small consideration

7. ARMADA BUROISE - Tends to do more in an inferior class and no realistic chance here

8. AZUR DES COUPERIES - One of the more complicated elements here but reassured at La Rochelle two weeks ago and will generate some interest

9. A VIVRE LA NUIT - Back at her best following a brace of clinkers. Trotted second to Alaro here early August and should give another good performance

10. ALARO - Impressive in both starts over track and trip since the break. Beat A Vivre La Nuit nicely here earlier in the month and every chance of repeating

11. ARMADA DES ILES - Mare with a lot of ability. Associated with a good apprentice and should be good enough to challenge the favourite

12. AMAHCATH - Completely out of the picture in her last seven and even with front shoes off this time is not the most attractive proposition

13. VENUS BARBES - Decent trotter that does well when covered up and will need the race to pan out ideally. Interesting outsider

14. ANGEL ROCK - Complicated but not short of ability. Is proven at Pornichet

and if applied should go close

Summary (10) ALARO got straight back down to business following his brief spell and given how well he acquitted himself on both recent starts here he should have the measure of the field. (9) A VIVRE LA NUIT finished runner-up to him earlier in the month and again looks a decent prospect, but she may first have to see off the useful (11) ARMADA DES ILES who has a very good apprentice in the sulky this time. (14) ANGEL ROCK is a complicated sort but when applied is never to be underestimated and must be given a chance.

Selections

(10) ALARO - (11) ARMADA DES ILES - (9) A VIVRE LA NUIT - (14) ANGEL

ROCK

Race 2 1. TOR MENTO - Handy sort that has shown good aptitude for the game. Pleased here mid-July and can expect to generate interest

2. VOLCAN BARBES - Ended last year on a low note and has picked up where he left off. No threat

3. VATICAN DU PONT - Occasionally shows his good side but currently going through a rough patch and will have nothing to offer

4. BRUTUS LEMAN - Tough and productive sort in this branch of the game. Makes a fine tandem with Anthony Barrier and could well impose

5. ULKO DE RIEZ - Has begun to show more in this code. Returns to a more suitable category and can get a look in

6. BILL PLEASE - Has been very hard to fault since late June and could yet prove something of a spoiler

7. AMIGO LAND - Not much to like on his formsheet for some time and can be confidently written off

8. VAILLANT ZAILER - First start in this discipline for four years but is presently in decent form and must be afforded respect

9. VRO LEON - Has demonstrated very good aptitude for the ridden code and should play a leading role

10. BINGO MADRIK - Acquits himself honourably for the most part. Flopped at Meslay but a repeat of his Amiens performance would see him in the action at the finish

11. UNITED KINGDOM - Boasts a decent record under the saddle. Has form at Pornichet and will have his part to play

12. BAMBOLINA - Consistently gives a good account of herself. Drops back in class and should make a big impact

Summary When associated with Anthony Barrier (4) BRUTUS LEMAN has produced nine podium places in eleven starts and on this basis he just get the nod ahead of (9) VRO LEON who has taken particularly well to his new vocation. (12) BAMBOLINA has been very consistent of late and dropping down the class ladder can only enhance her already good prospects. Antoine Wiels has been in cracking form recently and could be key to (11) UNITED KINGDOM's rehabilitation.

Selections

(4) BRUTUS LEMAN - (9) VRO LEON - (12) BAMBOLINA - (11) UNITED KINGDOM

Race 3 1. AMADEO JENKO - Very disappointing since his return this term and will simply have too much to do

2. VAL DES CHAMPS - Resectable but rarely trots into the first three and others preferred on this occasion

3. ASIA DU CAMP - Not the worst horse in the field. Pleased on her last appearance at this level and drops back in a bid to renew confidence. One to note

4. AKITOKY - Has made no impact on the track all year and can be passed over

5. ATTRAPE MOI ALDO - Beginning to come into himself this term. Won at La Rochelle earlier in the month and if applied should make a good go of this

6. VINCENT DE JADE - Previously very useful but has failed to fire following his long absence and can be overlooked

7. ALL STAR DE FOOT - Useful trotter at this level. Has a fine association with her driver and in this field looks capable of imposing

8. ANDREAFILOU - Decent dual-purpose type that drops back down the class ladder. Has form in the amateur category and should not be underestimated

9. VERY HAPPY JIHEM - Moderate trotter that has made no impact for some time and is not about to change his ways

10. ALESIA DES BORDES - Back in business following a lean patch. Won here late last month and latterly at Mauquenchy and although on the second line is still a major player

11. VOLPINO - Has just twice finished in the frame this year and is unlikely to influence the outcome

12. UNLIKE D'ETOILE - Seventh race in the past month. Giving a good account and is not incapable of finishing in the mix

13. VIVA CENSERIE - Not at her most productive this year. Encouraged earlier in the month but still not up to the challenge

14. UTAL DES LANDES - In the thick of things for the most part. Is proven under these conditions and latest effort augurs well for his prospects

15. USTAN DE GILLY - Winner of two of his last four. Fourth to Utal Des Landes here mid-July and should again acquit himself competitively

16. UGO DE TORTIERE - Consistent sort that seldom lets the side down. Well in here and should not disappoint. Place chance

Summary

Although not the most reliable (7) ALL STAR DE FOOT gets on well with his talented driver and from the front line can have her way. She can expect to be opposed though by the useful (5) ATTRAPE MOI ALDO who appears to be back in form, and course and distance winner (10) ALESIA DES BORDES who legitimately bids for the hat-trick despite her spot on the back row. (16) UGO DE TORTIERE has hardly set a foot wrong for most of the season and must be respected. (14) UTAL DES LANDES is no slouch either and can fill a minor-money spot.

Selections

(7) ALL STAR DE FOOT - (5) ATTRAPE MOI ALDO - (10) ALESIA DES

BORDES - (16) UGO DE TORTIERE - (14) UTAL DES LANDES

Race 4 1. ELVIRA DE MELODIE - Sanctioned in all four to date but has shown hints of talent and with application could pleasantly surprise

2. EXTRA CADETTE - Not the most reliable but has merit. Pleased on his penultimate start and if applied can give a decent account

3. EQUIN D'AVRIL - Handy sort that is known for his strong finishes. In good company but a place chance all the same

4. ESPOIR D'ELPHIGNY - No slouch under harness but is pitted against some very good horses this time and will need to show improvement

5. ELEGANT TILLY - Delicate but has been racing very productively recently and if applied can trot into the frame

6. ELEVEN DES PLANS - Regularly in the thick of things and presently in fine condition. Beaks from the front and should figure prominently

7. ESPOIR ANVALOU - Gave a respectable account in the G.I Prix d'Essai late June but is not as effective under harness and the extra 25m will do him no favours

8. EDEN BASQUE - Classy colt that tends to sweep all before him. Can prove tricky but with stride in check should add another win to his tally

Summary (8) EDEN BASQUE should have this race wrapped up even before the off. He is a colt for the future and should not be inconvenienced by the extra 25m. (6) ELEVEN DES PLANS is back at his best following the Enghien flop and will benefit from the front-line start. (5) ELEGANT TILLY appears to have left his stride woes behind him and can give this a good go, as can the fresh (3) EQUIN D'AVRIL if he can reproduce his La Rochelle performance.

Selections

(8) EDEN BASQUE - (6) ELEVEN DES PLANS - (5) ELEGANT TILLY - (3)

EQUIN D'AVRIL

Race 5 1. DEUX MATS - Useful on a good day but not the most courageous and chances limited

2. DANDY CHERI - Unplaced in last two but third over track and trip mid-July. In better company this time and not an obvious choice

3. DELNA DES PLAINES - Has turned a corner since beginning to race unshod all four. Steps up in class and best to monitor this time

4. DIEGO GRIFF - Sanctioned as often as not and at this level will have his work cut out

5. DIVINE DES RACQUES - Filly with ability but disqualified in three of her last four. Shod this time and should not be entirely ruled out

6. DIVINE PROVIDENCE - Has been looking very ordinary since late February and will struggle to make any impact

7. DIVA DE JAFRAN - Enjoying a decent streak at the moment. Came a good second over track and trip last month in a fillies-only race and from the front line can give this a good go

8. DASKA DE L'OCEAN - Delicate but otherwise very productive. Should appreciate these conditions but the extra 25m will do her no favours

9. DUC DU LUPIN - Quality trotter that should not be condemned for his recent sanction and looks eminently capable of adding another victory to his tally

10. DIVINITY DU GRENY - Out of the first three in her last ten races and unlikely to worry the opposition

11. DIALETTO - Back in shape following a brief lull and on present form is more than capable of making the frame

12. DONUTS DELADOU - Has been pleasing for the past three months. Sanctioned at Vichy last week but must still be considered a valid place prospect

13. DANDY DU BOURG - Useful sort that always gives his best. Is barefoot for the first time and will have his supporters

14. DIADEME BLUE - Back at the top of his game after a shocking run of form. Came a good second at Enghien last time and should have a role to play here

15. DRUSS DE GUEZ - Tough type that seldom disappoints. Left a good impression when winning at Meslay earlier in the month and could yet double up

16. DIEGO D'UKA - Decent trotter but has lost his way over the past three months and will need to reaffirm

17. DEQUIDIA - Very hard to fault in the other code at the moment. Is no slouch under harness either and should not be discounted

Summary (9) DUC DU LUPIN is undoubtedly the best horse in the field and is in his element over this distance. He goes barefoot again and should have the measure of the consistent (15) DRUSS DE GUEZ who was an impressive winner at Meslay two weeks ago. (11) DIALETTO has returned to form after a low period and can make a big impact, but will need to keep an eye on the reinvigorated (14) DIADEME BLUE. (12) DONUTS DELADOU has been if fine shape of late and should give another solid account.

Selections

(9) DUC DU LUPIN - (15) DRUSS DE GUEZ - (11) DIALETTO - (14) DIADEME

BLUE - (12) DONUTS DELADOU

Race 6 1. CIME DE L'AUXENCE - Average sort that scored under the saddle late last month but in this code will have nothing to give

2. CANASTA DU CEBE - Currently in good shape and although sanctioned last time should bounce back with a more competitive effort here

3. COMTESSE DE CONNEE - Hardy mare that has been acquitting herself well over recent months. Unplaced last time but not to be ignored

4. CHIPIE DU LUPIN - Decent mare with nothing to prove in this class but appears to have lost her way and needs to get her house in order

5. CERISE DU CANTER - Has proved very productive when unshod behind but shoes on this time and others preferred

6. CALINOGHA - Has been on a good run of late. Returned to winning ways early August and can expect to finish in the action

7. CALINA DE BLAIN - Got the year off to a winning start but less effective since and can expect to find this a stiff test

8. CHOUPETTE JALLERIE - Is rarely far off the mark when she can keep her action together. Scored on grass late last month and will justifiably garner support

9. CLASS HAUFOR - Considerably better than her latest results suggest. Better than most here and if applied should be able to make this her own

10. CERIDWEN - Very useful mare that surprisingly failed to sparkle last time but with Bazire at the helm here she must be considered a serious player

11. CAPUCINE DES PRES - One of the least productive horses in the field. Has had little to show for her efforts and can be ruled out

12. CITE MAGIK - Not the most reliable but has merit all the same. Benefits from an Eric Raffin drive this time and will have her supporters

13. CIKIA DEIHA - Has ability but has not been the luckiest in recent weeks. If given a chance she should be able to finish in the money

Summary (9) CLASS HAUFOR has failed to show her true worth in recent weeks but she is better than most here and can impose if she can keep her action together. Barring her last start (10) CERIDWEN has been enjoying a productive run and with Jean-Michel Bazire at the helm this time her chances will improve significantly. (8) CHOUPETTE JALLERIE overcame a trio of sanctions to win at La Gacilly late last month and with shoes off again should figure prominently. With some luck in running the handy (13) CIKIA DEIHA can get a look in.

Selections

(9) CLASS HAUFOR - (10) CERIDWEN - (8) CHOUPETTE JALLERIE - (13)

CIKIA DEIHA

Race 7 1. CYRIUS D'ARIANE - Pleased in two of three since racing barefoot and should not be far off the mark

2. CRISTAL DU BOSSIS - Has had nothing to show for his efforts for the past 18 months and can be written off

3. CHARLY HEROLD - Pleased in a claimer on his only start at the venue but goes shod this time and can be passed over

4. COCO DU NIEL - Consistent for the most part but unplaced in his last three and chances limited

5. CANDIDO GES - Pleased in both recent appearances at the venue. Eric Raffin at the helm this time and will have a part to play

6. CELLIOTT MORILLON - Very hard to knock when applied. Left a fine impression when winning here last month and could well confirm

7. CHABLIS DE FAVEROL - Has been making good progress of late and backs up after his sanction with a reasonable chance of finishing close

8. CRONOS DU BECQUET - Complicated type but not entirely without merit. In better company here and offers little hope

9. CASTEL HAUFOR - Has been flying in recent months and with shoes off again is not incapable of imposing

10. CALIFE DE ROMAZ - No slouch in this code but sanctioned in last five under harness and will not be easy to trust

11. CHENE DE LANDISACQ - Delicate but otherwise enjoying a fruitful run. Has good finishing speed and can make the first five

12. CEDRE DES VAUCHAUX - Beginning to come into himself again but has little room for manoeuvre and a minor place chance at best

13. COCKTAIL DU LOUP - Completely off the boil at the moment and will struggle to make his presence felt

14. CAVELIN - Flopped in all three since winning at Rambouillet and will need to reassure

Summary The delicate (6) CELLIOTT MORILLON has been in top form lately and appears eminently capable of repeating last month's course and distance victory. He can nonetheless expect significant opposition from the consistent (9) CASTEL HAUFOR who is back at the top of his game. (5) CANDIDO GES benefits from a serious driver in charge this time and under these conditions must be considered

a threat. (7) CHABLIS DE FAVEROL is returning to his best and backs up with a legitimate chance of breaking into the first three.

Selections

(6) CELLIOTT MORILLON - (9) CASTEL HAUFOR - (5) CANDIDO GES - (7)

CHABLIS DE FAVEROL

Race 8 1. BANJO DE LA NOEMIE - Quality trotter that is confirmed in better company but has just one race to his name this term and will need the outing

2. VEGAS VISAIS - Moderate sort that encouraged at Cabourg two weeks ago. Breaks from the front and will have his supporters

3. AS BLUE - Consistently productive in the other discipline. Has some ability under harness but still not an obvious choice

4. ULEX DE LEZIGNE - A fine sort in the other code but rarely shows anything under harness and is not about to break the mould

5. TONIC DES PINS - Has looked very ordinary for the past 14 months and has no realistic chance

6. AMOUR DU LOUP - Very hard to knock when racing unshod. Pleased over longer here earlier in the month and from the front line looks dangerous

7. ATINO DE L'ORMERIE - Fine trotter that finished a solid place behind Amour Du Loup here last time and should again acquit himself competitively

8. UGOPHENIO - Tends to give a better account when unshod but has shoes on this time and offers little hope

9. ANOA - No slouch on a good day but not currently at his most productive and can be passed over

10. ACCORDEON - Dependability not his strong suit. Fell foul of the stewards on comeback and expected to need the race

11. VAISMAN - Quality sort that pleased at Graignes on his second start back and should be able to open his annual account here

12. BE MINE DE HOUELLE - Handy dual-purpose individual that pleased in her last two. Drops back in class and should figure prominently

13. BALTIC CHARM - High-class horse that has been plagued by stride problems for some time but if applied could well run away with this

14. AKIDO - Hardy sort but has not been seen out since February and will need the race

15. PERKINS GRIF - Nothing to prove at this level but has lost his way in recent months and will need to reaffirm

Summary After his comeback last month (11) VAISMAN made good progress at Graignes and has an ideal opportunity to return to winning ways here. The consistently rewarding (6) AMOUR DU LOUP breaks from the front line and looks the

principal challenger. When applied (12) BE MINE DE HOUELLE seldom disappoints and drops back in class with a legitimate place chance, but will still need to be wary of the classy (13) BALTIC CHARM who could well win this if he can keep his action together.

Race 1 1. AL MASHRAB - Seventh on debut at Deauville but stable form is a slight concern

2. CHALCO - Needs to improve on both his efforts so far to figure here

3. DAY OF REST - Placed on all of his three runs and therefore respected in this

4. SAINT ROCH - Runner up on debut at Chantilly and looks a huge threat to all

5. FORZA CAPITANO - Sixth on debut at Craon and might improve for that experience

6. DR SHEPHERD - Just the one place from four outings and best left alone

7. PIER CESAR - Two placed runs in Milan and could do the same here

8. FUN TO MAS - Improved for debut fourth when runner up at Vichy and looks a player

Summary This opening maiden looks an absolute golden opportunity for the Mme.P Brandt trained (4) SAINT ROCH who showed bundles of ability on debut when runner up at Chantilly in June and the patient approach since then should pay off here. The second faourite Fun To Mas must be respected with (3) DAY OF REST and (1) AL MASHRAB next.

Selections

(4) SAINT ROCH - (8) FUN TO MAS - (3) DAY OF REST - (1) AL MASHRAB

4. LA CANCHE - Runner up on both her starts and one of the likely winners

5. ENVY - Seventh on debut at Maisons -Laffitte and will need to improve

6. GOSSIPE - Just the one place in four runs and has it all to do

10. LILAC FAIRY - Newcomer. Dam was a dual winner and has bred one foal to be successful from two runners

11. MAINE D'ANGE - Newcomer. Dam was a dual winner and has bred two winners from three foals

12. LA CATALEYA - Newcomer. Dam won eleven times and has bred one winner from four foals

Summary This looks booked for (4) LA CANCHE. The Le Havre filly has been runner up in both her starts at Saint Cloud and Chantilly and in the process showed plenty of ability. One imagines a race of this nature is well with within her grasp. (3) ROKSANEH will be no pushover. Keep an eye on (9) INFINITE CHEERS and (10) LILAC FAIRY for future.

Selections

(4) LA CANCHE - (3) ROKSANEH - (9) INFINITE CHEERS - (10) LILAC FAIRY

Race 3 1. BAY OF POETS - One win from ten and may have to give way to more progressive types

2. GLEN SHIEL - Dual winner from five but did disappoint last time out

3. VOLFANGO - All three runs at Maisons-Laffitte winning the first two and then a huge effort last time

4. BORN TO BE ALIVE - English trainer of this one must always be respected but a place is best hope

5. NEGUEV - Won two of three completed starts and needs a second look

Summary There is no getting away from the very strong credentials of (3) VOLFANGO here in what is an intriguing event. The selection won both of his starts at Maisons-Laffitee before coming back there to run huge when fourth in a Group Two. He can see off (5) NEGUEV and (4) BORN TO BE ALIVE with (2) GLEN SHIEL next.

Selections

(3) VOLFANGO - (5) NEGUEV - (4) BORN TO BE ALIVE - (2) GLEN SHIEL

Race 4 1. SMART WHIP - In terrific form winning three of last four and sure to take a hand

2. CASHMAN - Smart triple winner from Germany who goes best fresh but is not today

3. DJIGUITE - Four time winner from fifteen and very decent on his day

4. TIME SHANAKILL - Ultra consistent six time winner but may find this too hard

5. CAFE ROYAL - Triple winner from thirty two but it has been a long time since last of those

6. SHUTTERBUG - Classy five time winner from Germany and does not know how to underperform

7. BOOMSHACKERLACKER - Honourable sort from the UK but looks a force of old now

Summary This is a lovely event with such genuine performers on show. (1) SMART WHIP can come out on top following a host of high class efforts winning three of his last four and one feels there are more to come. (6) SHUTTERBUG will be there for sure at the finish and will set the pace. (4) TIME SHANAKILL and (3) DJIGUITE to complete the placings.

Selections

(1) SMART WHIP - (6) SHUTTERBUG - (4) TIME SHANAKILL - (3) DJIGUITE

Race 5 1. SANTA VALENTINA - One win from fifteen and could be an each way hope at best

2. AL SILMIYAH - Placed in two of her three runs and should take a hand in proceedings

3. ARMENIAN GIRL - Much improved on first two starts when runner up last time and will be involved

4. KALLIPSO - Won penultimate start but then bombed out at Deauville last time

5. MANOUKA - Was first and second in last two runs at Maisons-Laffitte and must for shortlist

6. ANOTHER LOVE - Is zero from six but has shown promise in some of those

7. RHODALIA - Remains a maiden after six and needs to show a little bit more

8. SOVERIA - Placed in two of her five runs and is another looking for improvement

9. ZAYAMINA - Has won her last two in a row which were in claimers but counted in

10. AVE SOTHIA - She is a placed maiden after a dozen attempts but others look stronger

11. SERIEMA - Placed in three of her fourteen but looking exposed now

12. IRISH MOON - Has placed in two of her five outings and was runner up last time in a claimer

13. SOLIERA - Unplaced in all six runs and basically a no hoper again

Summary Like a lot of the remaining races this is competitive. Marginal preference is accorded to (5) MANOUKA who has been in excellent form at Maisons-Laffitte of late and can continue the good work here. Chief among the principal dangers are (2) AL SILMIYAH and (9) ZAYAMINA. (3) ARMENIAN GIRL can take fourth.

Selections

(5) MANOUKA - (2) AL SILMIYAH - (9) ZAYAMINA - (3) ARMENIAN GIRL

Race 6 1. VIS A VIS - Placed in all five runs and sure to be in the mix once more

2. BOIS LE ROI - Runner up on debut here in June and should come on even more now

3. COCOLEGUSTACHOCHO - Has work to do now following three runs which demand more

4. ORYVIL - Seventh on debut at Marseille-Vivaux and that will not suffice

5. UN TIC - Tenth on sole start at this venue so will need to come on appreciably

6. MERU - Fourth on debut here earlier this month and should improve

7. ELAN NOUVEAU - Did a little better on his third start but would need to double on that here

8. MAGPIE - Seventh on debut at Vichy but must improve off that now

9. BAILEYS BIJOUX - Well beaten on both runs and easily dismissed again here

10. RISKA - Improved markedly for debut when placed at Saint-Malo

11. DARAYEM - Newcomer. Dam was high class Group One winner and has bred a string of excellent animals

12. TYZEFF - Newcomer. Dam was a maiden and has bred two winners from four foals

Summary This is a good strong maiden where there is a well bred newcomer but the spoils could go to (2) BOIS LE ROI who made a very satisfactory debut when runner up at this venue back in June and can make the appropriate improvement now. (1) VIS A VIS looks a big danger. (6) MERU and (7) ELAN NOUVEAU can come next.

Selections

(2) BOIS LE ROI - (1) VIS A VIS - (6) MERU - (7) ELAN NOUVEAU

Race 7 1. CHEEKY LADY - Back to form when scoring at Dieppe last time and a must for shortlist

2. GUNGA DIN - Is zero from seventeen and running out of excuses now

3. GOT TIGER - Made it win number six at Le Lion-d'Angers last time so a big player

4. CRAUS - Just the one win from twenty five but has been runner up on both runs this term

5. STAR D'AUTHIE - One win from twenty two so a bit of work to be done today

6. ATTAWO - Nine time winner from seventy three and can be considered here

7. LOENRIQUE - Made it win number six at Dieppe last time and must be in the mix

8. CITY KING - Five time winner from thirty nine and back to form last time out

9. WIZARD WOLF - Has won two from twenty six and arrives here in top order

10. EVER ONE - Made it win number three at Dieppe last time so must be a danger

11. DANCEUR BRESILIEN - This dual winner missed all of 2016 and just average in two runs back

12. CORBELLINA - Remains a maiden after eight but has shown bits and pieces of form

13. SHEZADOFF - Three time winner from thirty five but seems to be going the wrong way

14. CARITAS - Has been going well at Deauville winning and placing in last two runs

15. GOLDEN BUCK - Three time scorer and runner up in last two spins so enters the equation

16. JULIETTA STAR - Only one win from twenty two but threatening all the time now for another

17. COEUR DOLOIS - One win from thirty eight and could find this a step beyond as well

18. STOCKHOLM EMERY - Good strike rate with eleven from forty five and is a player again

Summary

One will struggle to find a handicap where all of the runners are so closely matched and anyone of them can win so a bunch finish looks a certainty. (9) WIZARD WOLF arrives here in grand form and will sere it up to the likes of (7) LOENRIQUE and (1) CHEEKY LADY. One must respect (14) CARITAS and (16) JULIETTA STAR too plus a whole host of others.

Selections

(9) WIZARD WOLF - (7) LOENRIQUE - (1) CHEEKY LADY - (14) CARITAS -

(16) JULIETTA STAR

Race 8 1. BABY DES CHAMPS - Four wins from twenty nine and comes in here in excellent form

11. CHAMPION SPORT - Yet to score in a dozen runs but there has been some green shoots

12. LANDO SPORT - Five time winner from seventy and has performed well so far this year

13. LOUBLUE - Is zero from eleven and looks a big outsider again here

14. TALKIN'BLUES - One success from twenty one but maybe not another today

15. VENEZIANO - Six time winner from eighty nine but it has been a long time between drinks

16. WHOWASRIGHT - One win from twenty five and can be a little difficult to predict at times

17. GREEN SAGA - Three time winner from over a century of runs but not another one here

18. HIDDEN VALUE - Is zero from twenty eight but funnily enough will get it done some day

Summary Hard pressed punters will do will to solve this small matter of just the eighteen

runners before embarking for dinner. It is impossible to be fair but (3) BIG HENRY has as good a chance as anyone. (12) LANDO SPORT has hope too. (5) ALFORROCHO and (9) MAJESTIC CLUB are worthy of a second look and a small each way chance for (18) HIDDEN VALUE too.

Selections

6. SENSAS CHOP - A newcomer by Muhaymin who should be monitored in the betting

7. LIVING STATE - A newcomer by Vision d'Etat who needs looking at

8. ROVIGO - A newcomer by Deportivo who will do better in time

Summary (2) RASTER is chosen in this opener which to be fair does not look the best quality event you will ever see. The son of Mastercraftsman was ultimately beaten just under four lengths but there was plenty to like and he can confirm placings with (5) EMIN. The two newcomers (8) ROVIGO and (7) LIVING STATE are interesting.

Selections

(2) RASTER - (5) EMIN - (8) ROVIGO - (7) LIVING STATE

Race 2 1. ACTION PARFAITE - Sixth on debut here two places behind Plavaline so work to do

2. CHOPEMOI - Runner up in the middle of her three runs but poor on those other two

4. PLAVALINE - Ran well enough on debut here and can confirm form with Action Parfaite

6. STOP AND STARE - Seventh on debut here and could easily improve to take a hand

7. CAZALINE - Well beaten on both starts and has it all to prove in this

8. RAVIXEN - Newcomer by Rajsaman who will do better for this today

Summary (5) LETTRE DE CHATEAU is chosen to take this maiden event following a very nice introduction at this venue last month and the slightly longer distance should bring out extra improvement to allow the filly to score. (4) PLAVALINE has a ticket to do better also. (6) STOP AND STARE and (8) RAVIXEN can fight for bronze.

Selections

(5) LETTRE DE CHATEAU - (4) PLAVALINE - (6) STOP AND STARE - (8)

RAVIXEN

Race 3 1. SO ELUSIVE - Won the last of his two runs last year but absent since

3. FUENTEESTEIS - Dual winner from twenty one and has each way hopes

4. SUGAR BAY - Has won two from seven and can get in the mix as such

5. KHYROVA - One win from seven runs and could return to top form

6. DEVELOPER - Has won two of her four runs this term and comes into this

7. INEDITH - A newcomer who looks a huge outsider in a tough event

Summary A chance is taken on (6) DEVELOPER who could go off at very rewarding odds and there was plenty tom like about her last time out victory at Mont-de-Marsan last month and can get the better of the likely very warm favourite in (1) SO ELUSIVE whose yard might not be firing. (3) FUENTEESTEIS and (2) SKALLETO for the frame.

Selections

(6) DEVELOPER - (1) SO ELUSIVE - (3) FUENTEESTEIS - (2) SKALLETO

Race 4 1. MAIZE AND BLUE - Dual winner from fifteen but was poor on last run here

10. BUFERA - Has win four from nineteen including last time out so has a shot

11. BLACK JEWEL - Winner of eight races and continues in good placed form

Summary This is completely wide open. A stab is taken on (4) BOWL who is a former two time winner and just might be on a fair mark considering a better show last time out at this venue. There will be market support for (11) BLACK JEWEL and (1) MAIZE AND BLUE while (6) RAGEUR has a shot as well at a fair price.

Selections

(4) BOWL - (11) BLACK JEWEL - (1) MAIZE AND BLUE - (6) RAGEUR

Race 5 1. JARDIN FLEURI - Triple winner in the past and better effort last time out

2. ARCTURUS - Dual winner from twenty two but looks way out of form

3. PRINCE DINO - Six time winner from fifty five but cannot be fancied on current form

10. FRENCH PLAISIR - Dual winner from thirty four and has a small chance

(4) BRIDJNAIA and (8) ESLA are to be reckoned with alongside (1) JARDIN FLEURI.

Selections

2. ALMAA - Second on debut last year and has won three in a row this term at Toulouse

3. ABUDHABI PRINCESS - One victory from eight runs and might have place chance

4. MUNEERA - Off the mark on her last start here after a host of places

5. JAMAS D.A. - Three unplaced efforts and very hard to fancy as such

6. CHERIE DE GHAZAL - One win from seven and is very consistent otherwise

7. LOU LOU - Best effort from three was on the last of those but has a lot to find

8. SHIRAZ TOURETTES - Placed in two of her six runs but looks a big outsider

9. DEESSE DES VIALETTES - Off the mark on the last of her four runs which was here

Summary The two at the top of the racecard look the most likely to battle it out. (2) ALMAA is chosen ahead of (1) JAMAHEER having shown just that little bit more in rattling up a hat trick of wins at Toulouse and can make the four in a row today. (4) MUNEERA and (3) ABUDHABI PRINCESS look the next best in a good renewal of this.

Selections

(2) ALMAA - (1) JAMAHEER - (4) MUNEERA - (3) ABUDHABI PRINCESS

Race 7 1. VITOR - Five time winner from thirty seven but poor last time out

2. TAMIL NADU - Six time winner from twenty nine and must overcome latest run

5. SEPT EXTRA - Six time winner from seventy eight including here last time out

6. TRUFFLE BLACK - Has won five from twenty four including a claimer here last time

7. MARSHALL LESSING - Has won five from nineteen and must be taken seriously here

8. TEBA MATEBA - One win from twenty two and might have each way hopes

Summary The vote here goes to (4) OSCAR NONANTAIS who was on a four timer when sixth here last time but can be forgiven that effort. He had previously won two in a row at this venue and can resume winning ways now. (6) TRUFFLE BLACK must be considered. (3) PERLE NONANTAISE and (2) TAMIL NADU should be thereabouts too.

Selections

(4) OSCAR NONANTAIS - (6) TRUFFLE BLACK - (3) PERLE NONANTAISE -

(2) TAMIL NADU

Race 8 1. JONH JONH - Triple winner from thirty nine runs and fair third last time out

Summary The one to be with here in this closer is definitely (3) BAILEYS CELESTE who has been in blinding form already this year racking up a hat trick and then a lovely run here last time out. There is the promise of even more to come. (1) JONH JONH is the principal danger ahead of (6) TODA JOYA and (2) EFFERATUS.

Selections

(3) BAILEYS CELESTE - (1) JONH JONH - (6) TODA JOYA - (2) EFFERATUS

Race 1 1. TALISMAN JIEL - Inside draw on the first tier. Disqualified thrice recently and needs to find his best form after four months off
