The Midas Touch Challenge

Key Rules for the Midas Touch Challenge (Check all the rules in the VIEWS – 1/23/2015)

1. Develop a trading system that delivers a higher score than the VectorVest

BackTest shown in the special presentation Jan 16, 2015.

DEADLINE: By Midnight, Friday, February 13.

2. Grand Prize - $2,500 Cash

3. Second Place - $1,500 Cash

4. Third Place - $750 Cash

5. One entry per participant only! Active subscribers only.

6. Account Settings: $100,000 initial investment. $9.95 Commission. Don’t use margin. Do not

account for interest. Execute Buys/Sells at next day’s open.

7. SEARCH. Your search must return stocks from the VectorVest Midas Touch WatchList. Price

(Actual) >= $1.00. AvgVol – (50 day MA Vol) >= 100,000. You may create and use your own

custom searches as long as they DO NOT use a non-VectorVest created WatchList.

8. BackTest Settings: Odd lots. Invest Average Value. Maintain a minimum of 10 positions

(legging in allowed, for example, you can buy 1, 2, or 3 stocks per day).

1.The contest is open to any subscriber who has an active U.S. Database subscription. That includes all Canadian subscribers.

2.You must use the U.S. Database to create your contest entry.

3.If you own the ProTrader plug-in module, you can use or modify any ProTrader technical search. You can use any custom fields that you have created such as moving averages.

4.You must ‘maintain at least 10 positions’ in your BackTest settings. However, you can ‘leg in’ with no limits on how few or how many positions you open each day.

5.You can go long and/or short, however, the search must use the Midas Touch Stocks WatchList.

Step #2 – Create a new BackTest (BackTester tab)

Step # 3 – Name Your Backtest (SRH – Contest Entry) Example of naming convention.

Step #4 – Select an Existing Trading System (once you have Autotimer added to your account)

Step #5 – Select a Midas Touch Challenge template.

Step #6 – Modify the Trading Plan System Template.(Choose: Customize Trading System tab)

Step #7 – Change the Test Period

Step #8 – Check the Score vs VV Challenge Score – www.vectorvest.com/tradingsystemscore

Step #9 – Do More Testing (Modify: Stop Criteria/Market Timing/Search)

Step #10 – Email: mtchallenge@vectorvest.com
