Listed below are a few highlights of the numerous initiatives we have launched in the past few weeks to help you navigate through these turbulent times.

ISSUING GUIDELINES ON FINANCIAL REPORTING AND AUDITING CA Sri Lanka has issued Guidance Notes on Accounting Considerations of the COVID-19 Outbreak (updated on 11th May 2020) and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to provide further guidance on the financial reporting considerations of the pandemic. COVID-19 TASK FORCE In our capacity as the National Accounting Body, we have an important role to play during this time of crisis, therefore the Council has formed the ‘CA Sri Lanka COVID-19 Task Force’ which will assess and support members and help rebuild the economy.

“CHALLENGE ACCEPTED” MEMBER SUPPORT PROGRAM The global pandemic no doubt has become a threat to every profession, including our own. Therefore, having understood that our members too have been affected by the virus and the subsequent economic crisis, CA Sri Lanka has launched the ‘Challenge Accepted’ member support program. MEMBER FEEDBACK SURVEYCA Sri Lanka has launched a Member Feedback Survey to understand how members of the Institute may have been affected by COVID-19 and the subsequent economic challenges with the ultimate objective of developing post recovery strategies.

SPECIAL BANK CONCESSIONS For the benefit of members who face challenges in settling loans obtained from banks and financial institutions due to the COVID-19 shutdown and related business losses, CA Sri Lanka has worked out a mechanism with state banks and financial institutions to provide members with a temporary concession. CPD SESSIONS FOR MEMBERSAs part of CA Sri Lanka’s commitment towards the continuous development of our members, the Institute has been offering a multitude of virtual CPD sessions for members. ONLINE LECTURES FOR SAB UNDERGRADUATES The School of Accounting and Business (SAB) of CA Sri Lanka which offers the popular BSc. Applied Accounting Degree has taken steps to conduct all lectures online. SAB is currently running a series of lectures for part time, full time students, as well as for students who enrolled through exemptions.

SAB MARCH 2020 INTAKE ORIENTATION PROGRAMSAB organized an orientation program for students who registered for the March 2020 intake via a virtual platform using the Microsoft Team online application. The orientation program, which was held on 18th April 2020, brought together over 225 students who connected from different parts of the country.

ONLINE COURSE DELIVERY BY CA BUSINESS SCHOOL AND SCHOOL OF TAXATIONThe CA Sri Lanka Business School has been conducting lectures and training sessions online, thereby providing its students an opportunity to continue their courses without interruption despite the numerous COVID-19 related challenges.
