LIZ MENDIOLA will begin her 17th season as head coach of The College of Idaho volleyball program this fall. During her first 16 seasons, the
Lady Yotes have advanced to 16 consecutive Cascade Conference tournaments, 10 NAIA National Tournaments and has recorded a 371-143 record. Mendiola has been named CCC Coach of the Year in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013 and has coached 31 All-CCC selections, 15 NAIA All-Americans and 20 NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Her teams have been ranked in the NAIA Top-25 every season since 2005, reaching as high as No. 5. Camp coaches include C of I assistants Derek Riggs, Kendra Mittleider and Whitney Brigham; Idaho Crush and former Illinois State graduate assistant Collin Hartman; along with area college, high school and club coaches, along with current/former members of the C of I team.
FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED: Coyote Volleyball Camps have consistently filled up quickly. Space is limited in each session as we strive
to maintain an instructor to player ratio of no more than 1 to 8. This ensures that the atmosphere will be conducive to learning for all. Register Early to guarantee a spot.
The Middle School Camp is open to athletes going into the fifth through the eighth grades. Our middle school camp concentrates on the
fundamentals of the sport in five major skill areas: serving, setting, passing, hitting and defense. The primary focus will be one technique and FUN.
The Setters & Attackers Camp is open to athletes between the 8th and 12th grades only. This camp will focus on the techniques and
strategies of these important positions. We will combine the skill groups for part of each day to allow for competitive situations with an emphasis on setting and attacking vs. blockers as well as exploiting defensive systems.
The Libero/Defense Camp is open to athletes between the 6th and 12th grades and will focus on the skills of defense, passing and serving, as
well as the mental and competitive aspects of these skills.
The Senior High Advanced Skills Camp concentrates on more advanced skills, including blocking, advanced defensive techniques and
offensive and defensive concepts. The camp’s primary emphasis focuses on competitive situations, position specialties and strategies of the game. Our goal is to prepare athletes for their upcoming high school tryouts. Position specific training will be part of the daily schedule. Participants can also expect a lot of game-like drills and situations. Campers will need to bring a lunch. On Wednesday, Aug. 2, we will end the Senior High Advanced Skills Camp with a tournament. Each camper will receive a College of Idaho Volleyball Camp t-shirt and a 2017 Season Pass for free admission to all C of I home volleyball matches.
