Aaron Taylor is truly an all timeUniversity of Nebraska great!He played for the Huskers from1994-1997 at OffensiveGuard/Center. He was draftedby the Indianapolis Colts in1998.While a member of thehuskers he was the 1997Outland Trophy Winner, a 1997Consensus All-American, a

1996 Consensus All-American, 1995 All Big 8 and the OnlyHusker to earn All-America honors at two different positions.

Jim Jensen earned 8 varsityletters at the University of Iowa,4 in football and 4 in track &field. He was drafted in the 2ndround of the 1976 NFL draft bythe Dallas Cowboys. He wastraded to the Denver Broncos in1977 and played in Super BowlXII that year against his formerteammates. He was a versatile

running back and led the Broncos in rushing and number ofreceptions in 1980. In 1981 he signed as a free agent with theGreen Bay Packers and played there for two seasons. Bart Starrwas his coach at Green Bay and in 1982 the Packers made theirfirst appearance in the play offs after a 10 year drought. He hasthree children: Jessica, Cody and Jack, and one brother Andy.He was inducted into the Iowa High School Sports Hall ofFame in 1988 and the Quad Cities Sports Hall of Fame in2002. Joel Makovicka is a former NFLfootball fullback who played forthe Arizona Cardinals (1999-2002). One of the mostdecorated fullbacks in Huskerhistory, Joel Makovicka owns theschool record with 13 careertouchdowns as a fullback forNebraska from 1995 to 1998.During his stay at Nebraska,

Makovicka was a two-time first-team academic All-Americanand three-time first-team academic All-Big 12 performer. Healso was a member of three national championship teams. Theyounger brother of another Husker walk-on fullback fromBrainard, Neb., Jeff Makovicka, Joel finished his career with1,447 yards rushing on an average of 5.9 yards per carry whilemaking 22 starts for the red and white. As a junior he producedthe fourth-highest rushing total by a fullback in school historywith 685 yards. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in thefourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft and started 10 games atfullback for the Cardinals as a rookie.

Chuck Foreman was selected wasselected with the 12th overallpick in the NFL draft. He was aconsensus choice as the NationalFootball Conference (NFC)Rookie of the Year in 1973.Foreman was named NFC playerof the year by The SportingNews in 1974 and by UPI in1976. He was named All-Pro in

1975 and played in five consecutive Pro Bowls (1973–1977).Foreman had 3 straight seasons rushing for 1,000+ yards(1975–1977) and scored a then NFC record 22 Touchdowns in14 games during the 1975 campaign. Foreman just missed arare NFC 'Triple Crown' (rushing yards, receptions & TDs) in1975 as well. Foreman played in 3 Super Bowls with theVikings. In 2005 the College Football Hall of Fame honoredChuck with the Community Service Award. In 2007 he wasinducted to the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor.

Shjon Podein played for theEdmonton Oilers, PhiladelphiaFlyers, Colorado Avalanche, St.Louis Blues and over the courseof a 699-game NHL career.Shjon assumed his role as toppenalty-killer with the Avalanchewhile helping Colorado capturethe Stanley Cup in the 2000–01season. Shjon is often remembered

for wearing his uniform for a full 25 hours after the game. It wasalso in 1997 that Shjon and Sherry founded the Shjon PodeinChildren's Foundation to help kids facing extraordinarydifficulties in their lives. Shjon became the first NHL player tojoin the Garth Brooks Teammates For Kids Foundation and isan NHL spokesman for Teammates. The Foundation thatcontributes monies to non-profits who effectively serve andbenefit children in areas of health, education, and inner cityservices. Podein was noted for his immense dedication to charitywork and youth hockey programs. As a result Podein wasawarded the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 2001.

Ryan Klesko loves to hunt andfish. But he is known for playing13 years in the major leagueswith the Atlanta Braves, SanDiego Padres and San FranciscoGiants. He won a World Seriesring with the Braves in 1995.His .525 slugging percentage asa Brave ranks 4th all-timeamong the team’s career leaders.

Klesko became the first player to hit a home run in threeconsecutive World Series road games when he did so against theCleveland Indians in Games 3, 4, and 5 of the 1995 WorldSeries. While in San Diego, he served as the club’sspokesperson for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation hosting Make-A-Wish children for batting practice, a pregame ceremony anda ballgame each home stand. This involvement has now lead tohis Blue Ryno Foundation, which provides support to thefamilies of terminally ill children. Klesko has been an activesupporter of Hunter's Dream for a Cure. Steve & Jodie Ries are celebritiesin anyone’s opinion. They losttheir son Ben shortly afterHunter passed away in 2005. Todd is an Olympic skier and bymany accounts the mostsuccessful North American inNordic combined skiing ever. In2009 he became world championin Nordic combined. During hisinternational career between1993 and 2006 he participatedin seven World Championships,five Winter Olympics and 162

World Cup events. His greatest successes have been 6 WorldCup wins. He finished in Top Ten of the World Cup overallstandings eight consecutive years and has won 19 US-championships. He retired in 2006, but returned tocompetition in 2008, setting his sights on making the team forthe 2010 Olympics. In February 2009 at the WorldChampionships in Liberec, he won two gold medals in Nordiccombined. He made the US team for the 2010 WinterOlympics. Todd is really into hunting and the outdoors.Shooting his bow and playing a lot of golf top his list. Alsohanging out with his wife Sunny and two children Charley andFinn when I'm not traveling the world and competing are on thetop of his list!

Doc’s journey has certainly beenunique. A former NFL guardand center who played for theChargers, Broncos and Eagles.The Washington Times dubbedhim “The Ultimate Underdog”saying, “perhaps no player inSuper Bowl history has traveled aharder path to the Super Bowl

than Diaz-Infante”. His career spanned 16 years covering the80’s, 90’s and 2000’s. A veteran of 16 training camps, he madehis debut with the Chargers during the 1987 strike and did notplay another game until the 1996 season. He is believed to bethe oldest player ever to make his first NFL start at the age of32. He won two Super Bowl Championships with the Broncos:XXXII and XXXIII. Since retirement 2002, Doc has been oneof the most recognizable media personalities in the Denver areaand a role model for Hispanics across the country. Currently, heis a College Football Analyst for ESPNU and ESPN. He livesin Phoenix with his wife Audra and children Dante and Alexis.He is one of the original founding board members of Hunter'sDream for a Cure.

As Hunter’s parents we were prepared for the challenges that a special needs child brings and we werewilling to do whatever was needed to give him the best. Despite Hunter’s challenges he was fully expectedto live as long as any healthy child. He lived his life and filled our lives with unbridled joy and happiness.His infectious smile and laugh affected many. Hunter’s death was a shock and a truly devastating loss forus. We never expected to be living life without him! During his far too short life he brought many peopletogether for the greater good of helping children who cannot help themselves. We can not thank youenough for the overwhelming support you have given our family and the foundation over the past fiveyears!

Losing Hunter was an unexpected tragedy and we have had tolearn that there is truly no greater loss in life! We can only pleadthat you help us and Hunter’s Dream for a Cure to do everythingwe can to prevent this from happening to others No one shouldhave to experience what we have gone through.
