Englewood Neighborhood Choir Program  

This year’s “Paint the Town Red: Inspiring Peace through Song” is in response to the violence in our city. We have committed the event to promoting peace in our communities and raising awareness for our new program in Englewood. The show will feature a few very special guests!!!Englewood needs the Chicago Children’s Choir. The community has been hit hard by violence. We need to get the kids off the street. Given it’s rich musical tradition, we are a perfect fit. !!One way we can help is to help provide music education, and inspire them to achieve greatness! We need $100,000 to make this happen. That’s why we need everyone of us to help – singers, families, staff, and supporters. !!Chicago Children’s Choir is a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization. We raise more than $2 million dollars annually. Each singer in the a Neighborhood Choir Program costs the Choir about $1250 and each Concert Choir singer costs around $10,000. Every student has subsidized tuition! And some pay as little as $50.!

What is the “Singers for Singers” Fundraising Campaign?  

Our “Singers for Singers” Fundraising Campaign is an individual fundraising campaign through FirstGiving that will help us reach our goal of bringing music to Englewood. !!This means that every person who benefits from this organization will have an opportunity to give back. And it’s easy!!!We want to show the community of Englewood that we are behind them and that we care! !!The Choir is not simply here to teach music. We are here to inspire our kids to make a difference in this world. We are here to show them that they can do something positive for their communities and beyond. And giving back is one example of this!!!

How does the campaign work?  

The entire campaign will last one month, up to Paint the Town Red on May 15.!!The commitment is minimal, less than 30 minutes over four weeks!!!Each singer and family will create a fundraising page. It’s easy! In as little as 10 minutes, your page will be ready.!!Once the page is finished, you:!

"1. Send the page to friends, family, and colleagues!"2. Share the link on Facebook and Twitter (if you have accounts)!"3. Send weekly follow-up emails to remind everyone!

!At Paint the Town Red, we will announce the total raised by the entire organization – singers, family, staff, and supporters.!!!! START NOW!

1! Click on “Start Fundraising” button.  

2! Select “Paint the Town Red: Inspiring Peace Through Song”  

3! Click on “Fundraise”  

4! Fill out FirstGiving account profile and press “Next”  

5! “Join” the proper team. Press “Next”  

6! Don’t see your program? Please scroll down or start typing the name of the program. After you find your program, click “Join”!

7! After joining the correct team, press ”Next”  

8! Create your personal page. Click “Next”  

9! Press “Submit”  

10! After your personal fundraising dashboard appears, click on “Ask for donations”  

11! Import or enter the names of at least 25 people (hopefully more)  

12! The information should appear in the right column. After you are done, click the “I’ve added all of my contacts” button at the bottom  

13! Almost done. You can customize your email request (but you don’t’ have to). Finally, click “send”

In the spirit of competition, we are excited to announce a little contest. Singers and their families, Neighborhood Choir Programs, and even CCC Staff will compete against each other for bragging rights and some cool prizes!!!
