Authorities continue to in-vestigate the slaying of a Ten-nessee man last weekend inToledo.

Brandon Shaul, 26, of Taze-well, Tenn., was shot multipletimes shortly after 10 p.m.Saturday near the I-75 over-pass at the Collingwood Boule-vard exit in central Toledo, po-lice said.

Police urge anyone with in-

formation about the shootingto contact the Crime Stopperprogram. Callers may remainanonymous and could be eligi-ble for a reward.

Bond set for Toledo womanaccused of assaulting officer

A judge set bond Friday at$10,000 for a Toledo womanwho is accused of assaultinga police officer.

Cairra Thompson, 22, ofthe 900 block of ProutyAvenue was charged inToledo Municipal Court. Sheremained in the Lucas

County jail Friday in lieu ofbond.

Officers responded to adomestic dispute early Fri-day in the 1600 block ofWoodland Avenue in thecentral city.

Police allege that Ms.Thompson broke free from

handcuffs and kicked Sgt.Matthew Slaman in the chestand neck area.

While trying to get away,she broke through a porchrail, landing on the ground,police said.

The sergeant was un-harmed.

Area womanarrested afterpolice chase

A woman led police on a ve-hicle pursuit Friday throughEast Toledo and Oregon.

Toledo police attempted tostop the driver before 4 p.m. atEast Broadway and SouthRavine Drive. The vehiclepulled over and drove off as of-ficers approached, police said.

Officers chased the motoristthrough East Toledo and to-ward Oregon. Oregon policeset out traffic spikes at Consauland North Wheeling streets.The car stopped about 13 min-utes later at Corduroy Roadand Ember Drive with four flattires, according to police.

Officers arrested ShannanColeman, 46, of the 200 blockof Majestic Drive and chargedher with failure to comply andpossession of crack cocaine.

Police allege in court docu-ments that she possessed twosmall pieces of crack cocaine.

Oregon policewarn of scam

Oregon police are warn-ing citizens about a re-ported scam.

A caller who claimed torepresent the city’s waterdepartment told the resi-dent about an overpaymenton the account. The scam-mer then asked for a creditcard number to provide arefund.

Police say if a call soundssuspicious to hang up anddial the number directly.
