Crime, Murder, and Deviance within society

Social control- Japan's society conformed its citizens into single-minded, work-obsessed citizens.

Conflict Perspective – Intensely competitive education system starts as a child

Self-image – kids lose their personal worth when they have failed, regarded as valueless by adults.

Role – Unemployment increase drastically, people who endured to find a role within society might not find one at all.

Communication – Japanese children cannot communicate their true feelings.

Japan’s fear this phenomenon destroy security in society

Strong economic power cuts personal life

Hierarchical education system determines one’s value, so kids lose the greater purpose of life.

Crime, Murder, and Deviance within society

Objective: Reveal roman society as corrupted horde, root of social

instability, and the homicidal force.

Method: Various sources of first-hand ( survey) and second-hand

information (research)

Conclusion: Christians labelled firmly of homicidium as an evil-doing But murder has never changed, opposing the hypocritical act

of convicting murder by the Christian.

Summary of Bolivian mob killing 54 people in 2008

Mob formed quickly and punished the gangs by gang beating and setting them afire.

Media such as YouTube began to broadcast this violence across the world, enraging many communities.

Mob rules occurs have begun to rise lately. More rights were given to Mob violence to solve

Objective: To see how race is a determining factor in crime.

Method: Used an analyzed/ data gathering method where she gathered data from about 182 cities in the united states.

Conclusions: Race doesn’t matter when it comes to social deviance.

Honour Murderers: Justification of “The hopelessness I feel at these ‘honour’ murders“

Sexual Prejudice- The ideology of women has been taken to the extreme through honour killings

Norms- In the Middle Eastern culture, it is acceptable to abuse one’s partner by both sexual and physical means unlike in the western culture

Social Control- The honour killings are examples of men trying to tell women their role

Self-Control: Overview of “Something Old, Something New: A Preliminary Investigation

of Hirschi's Redefined Self-Control.”

Objective- Piquero was summarizing and concluding studies on

human self control done by Gottfredson and Hirsch and how self control links to criminal activity

Method- The researchers used a survey method and surveyed a

large body of volunteers. The surveys were anonymous and was based on decision making

Conclusion- Piquero concluded that several factors influenced self

Analysis: Vigilante likelihood

Males are definitely more likely to break social norms, even to enforce social norms with violent methods.

Females are more indecisive and check off ”depends”, mainly answering that it depends on the crime
