degree in Health Sciences at McMaster University (2007) and obtained her medical degree at McMaster's DeGroote School of Medicine in 2011. Dr. Crombeen returned to her home town to complete her residency in family practice through the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2013 and subsequently completed her fellowship in Palliative Medicine in 2014. Dr. Crombeen established her practice in palliative care at St. Joseph's Hospice of Sarnia-Lambton and Bluewater Health. She has a interesting Palliative care to patients with chronic illnesses throughout their illness trajectory.
Specialist in pain and palliative care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. She provides clinical consultation in the UHN Cancer Pain Clinic, integrating the palliative approach to care on acute care wards. She is also involved in leadership, education and research initiatives and was an educator at the de Souza Institute where she facilitated courses on pain management and advance care planning. She has a Masters in Nursing UofT and holds a clinical appointment with University of Toronto Lawrence S. Bloomberg faculty of nursing.
She continues to empower individuals as an Intervention Advocate and Empower Coach. She is the recipient of the 2017 D.M. Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award. Christine has been honoured with the Leadership and Communication Award from the Toastmasters Public Speaking Organization, and a recipient of a Certificate of Recognition from U.S. Secretary of Defence, Donald H. Rumsfeld
by Christine Dernederlanden. She is the award winning author of "Where is Robert?", the grief kit that aided over 6000 families affected by 911. "H.U.G.S." Helping Children Understand Grief Sessions and "Where is My Courage?".
Emergency Nursing, Parish Nursing and Hospice Palliative Care. She also spent 16 years in lay pastoral ministry including time as the Lay Ministry Specialist for the RC Diocese of London. The author of'Befriending Death: Henri Nouwen and a Spirituality of Dying' and 'Embracing the End of Life: Help for Those Who Accompany the Dying' she enjoys speaking, teaching and inspiring others. Michelle helped to design, build and open the 10-bed Chatham-Kent Hospice in 2016 and is currently offering support to other hospice projects in Ontario and assisting the Henri Nouwen Societyas they launch new Caregiver Support materials
Bioethicist at St. Michael's Hospital for over 18 years and is now Professor of Theology and Scripture at St Augstine's Faculty of Theology in the UofT. He was Professor of Theology & Ethics at Concordia University in Montreal. His special areas of interest in research include: End of Life Care& Culture especially Hindu - Saivite Tamil Ethics and Islamic Ethics. He has presented papers at a number of national and international conferences on issues related Theology and Ethics
with Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, University Health Network. He holds a Master's in Theological Studies (Queen's University), and is a PhD candidate at St. Michael's College (UofT) where he is focusing on Pauline Ethics and Bioethics. Kevin completed a shared JCB/CCE Fellowship in Clinical and Organizational Ethics. Prior to his work in Ethics, Kevin worked as a Chaplain at St. Michael's Hospital where he has clinical experience in Palliative care, Critical care, Emergency and Trauma care.
