YOU
!
The first project is to draw a life size picture of yourself.
Write words to describe how you feel about yourself.
CIRCLE the parts you like about yourself.
Make an X on the parts you do not like about yourself.
Your Body Image
How do you hold yourself up?
Stand up straight!
Good posture is the number one element to beauty. If you don't stand up straight, nobody can see your curves or wonderful figure.
Your posture
Each of us is as unique as a snowflake, no matter how much we long to be like someone else. If we can’t love the one we’re with (ourselves), then the odds of finding it anywhere else are pretty slim. .
Y O U
You are Special!
YOU ARE UNIQUE
REALIZE YOU HAVE A LOT TO OFFER!!!
Y O U
Concentrate on your talents.
Be proud of who you are.
How to have a realistic body image…
Because of relentless advertising and cultural conditioning, many of us are unhappy with the bodies our souls inhabit and we wish to be other than what we are.
Becoming spiritually healthy is also becoming emotionally and physically healthy. And remember: healthiness equals
happiness.
*Define healthy
If only I could change…
(Please share what would you like to change about yourself?)
How to be proud about your body…
Change only what you can change. If you want to, resolve to drop the 10 pounds you've been complaining about by
losing in small increments, cheering yourself on as you lose. Don't make a change for anyone but *yourself.
* Talk about dating violence
If only I could change so that my boyrfriend will like me more…
(Please share why wouldn’t you change your yourself for someone else?)
Instead of just thinking about your body and body image in a generalized sort of way, try these following steps to create a more realistic map of what always surrounds you: you! Set aside at least an hour to hang out with yourself. And get a paper and pencil. Erasing is allowed, even encouraged! Here's how:
Realize nobody is perfect. Celebrities and models all have their own quirks, too. Some have extremely large ears, or funky toes, or bad hands or knobby knees. Come to grips with the fact these people have assistance in fashion and make-up that most of us don't. They learn to compensate for their flaws and don't obsess about them.
Treat yourself well.
Avoid these things which can be harmful to your body:
•Tobacco• drugs• alcohol • junk food
Get on an exercise program and set reasonable goals for yourself.
And have fun as you're learning to feel great about yourself.
The Media and your body image!
Figure out where you're picking up negative messages about your body. Exposing ourselves regularly to TV shows that only show "beautiful people" can lead us to think there's something
wrong with us if we don't look like them. Likewise, the magazines in the grocery aisles don't help us
feel any better about ourselves.
Your weight
Your Scent
Your Health
YourBody
Accept yourself- Love yourself-
and be yourself !
Accept the rest of your body for what it is. You can't change the length of your legs, but you can build up your
leg strength so you're faster than any long-legged racer in the next lane. Instead of straightening your curly hair
every morning, find a hairstyle that works with your hair type.
Make a real life size picture of YOU!
2nd Picture “Life Size” with a partner have the partner trace each others body and have them put
words about how they feel about themselves. Compare the first picture with the second. Was their first picture accurate? What things to do
they like about themselves? List things that you want to keep and things that you want to change and WHY? Why would you want to change them?
