A Region Training Conference is a training event provided FOR the members within each division within the region.

The event must serve its purpose.

Purpose

• To educate the members of our district about Key Club and how to be more effective leaders of our organization

The event must be inclusive, available to all members, and serve the members of each division within the region

• It is an opportunity for you to share your knowledge, interact with the members you serve, and inspire members to continue their involvement in Key Club

• Have a Region meeting or discussion Identify the Region’s RTC Coordinator Identify the best venue for the

members Check and secure the facility EARLY Identify which Leadership Team

member(s) attendance would benefit the members

Complete the online RTC Event Registration

How to Prepare

Identify workshops that will be beneficial to the members of your Region

Identify the strengths of each Lt. Governor and assign workshops accordingly

Review the resources and presentations available to you from our District

• Create an RTC Agenda/Program Include all the activities that will be

taking place that day, what workshops will be presented, and where they will take place

Putting It Together

• PowerPoint Presentations Create or edit presentations in order to

reflect your own knowledge gained from past experiences

• Handouts Don’t expect members to remember

everything! Summarize the key points of the

information presented

Keep them stress-free by completing all items at least

a week in advance

The Days Leading Up to the Event

• Communicateo With your Region Team

Create a checklist of all the items that need to be ready to go the day of the event

o With the event venue It is your responsibility to ensure that the

venue is prepared

• Continue advertising the event

• Familiarize yourself with what you are presenting

• Address little details that will enhance the member experience

• Make sure you have all that you were in charge of ready to go so you are not scrambling in the morning

It does not hurt to bring your laptop & USB with the power points to the event in case of technical difficulties

Remember sign-in/registration sheet

The Night Before

• Get a good amount of sleep! (At least 8 hours, please!)

• Relax. At this point you have done all that you

could.

• Double check that you have everything at least 4 hours before leaving your house

• Eat a decent meal

• Get signs up as soon as possible

• Relieve any nervous tensions by being prepared and enjoying the time with those you are with
