GEDET is pleased to welcome ESCAD members to our annual meeting; and, just aswhen both associations participated together in 2005, we hope all attendees will sharetheir knowledge and experiences.
XX CosmoDerm Meeting 2012, to be held in conjunction with the XXIV GEDETMeeting in Madrid on 22-24 November, has characteristics that make it particularlyattractive.
The first day's subject, “Skin care of cancer patients”, presents an extremely importantissue from a dermatological and social viewpoint, and is enhanced by the collaborationof the Spanish Cancer Association, the Spanish Skin Cancer Association and theSpanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
Preserving the highest possible quality of life for the patient is a goal shared by allmedical specialties. In dermatology this aim is especially appreciated given the importancecurrently given to image. Thanks to contributions from leading dermatologists fromSpain and other European countries, the conference will examine in depth how skinhealth affects the quality of life of those suffering from cancer.
Interesting topics such as advances in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, newdevelopments in laser and new technologies in dermatology, current progress in plasticsurgery and cosmetic techniques for clinical skin problems will be discussed along withother important matters in present-day science.
Another main attraction of this international meeting is its practicality. It includesworkshops on the latest issues in dermatology and symposia with the latest developmentsin the pharmaceutical industry.
A Cancer Care Guide of the skin, hair, nails, etc, will be presented jointly by the SpanishCancer Association and the Spanish Group for Aesthetic and Therapeutic Dermatologyof the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
Finally, the congress venue is an added attraction, because…
Madrid is always well worth a visit.
