A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS ON PETITIONS
FOR ZONING CHANGES.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received petitions for zoning
changes, which petitions, numbered 67-1 through 67-5 are on record
in the Office of the City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the public interest
that hearings be held on said petitions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Charlotte, that public hearings will be held in the
Council Chamber on the Second Floor of the Charlotte City Hall
beginning at 2:00 o'clock P. M., on Monday, the 16th day of January,
1967 on petitions for zoning changes nt,lmbered 67-1 through 67-5.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of said hearings
be published as required by law.

RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SYMPATHY ON THE DEATH OF DR. CLAUDE B. SQUIRES
WHEREAS, it was with deep regret that the City Council
learned of the passing of Dr. Claude B. S-{uires on December 15,1966;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Squires well and faithfully served the City of
Charlotte as a member of the City Council from 1933 to 1935; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Squires was a dedicated practitioner of the
healing arts and was a leader in his medical associations, both State
and local, as well as a leader in civic and community affairs; and
WHEREAS, his devotion to the welfare of his fellowmen was
evidenced by his tireless activity in the field of medicine, and in
various civic, conununity and fraternal organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Charlotte, in regular session assembled, this 19th day
of December, 1966, that the deepest sympathy of the members of the
City Council is hereby extended to the family of Dr. Claude B. Squires,
and that his name be and the same is hereby memorialized and
honored; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be forwarded to his family, and that this resolution be spread upon
the minutes of this meeting.
Read, approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, in regular session convened on the 19th day of December, 1966, the reference having been made in Minute Book 48, and recorded in full in Resolutions Book 5, at Page 390.
