Practical Wisdom How to Navigate this Changing World with Grace There is so much fear and uncertainty in today’s changing world. It can be difficult to live our lives with grace and compassion. We don’t realize how often we fall into old habits and thought patterns as we move through our day. How can self-reflection and meditation help you to move through this world with more grace and less fear? Common themes of practical wisdom are found across many spiritual traditions; respect, compassion, forgiveness, gratitude and love for self and others.

In this class, we will use writing from One With All of Thee: Growing Your Sacred Connection and other books of wisdom as a jumping-off point for reflective discussion on how to live a more mindful life in harmony with nature and those around us. I will provide simple tools, short exercises and meditations to fit into your busy lives, as well as short reading assignments and/or exercises to do during the week that will be discussed in class. (Four Thursdays)

A retired Duke University medical researcher, Celine Koropchak is currently a blueberry farmer and author of the books “One With All of Thee: Growing Your Sacred Connection” (book will available for purchase), and “One With All of Thee: Sowing the Seeds for Change.” She speaks and teaches locally sharing practical tools to help guide others on their personal journeys.

Preserving Family Memories: Photo Books & Scrapbooking This class will explore the correct handling and storing of photographs and heirlooms to preserve family artifacts to pass to succeeding generations. Archival guidelines will be given as well as resources to contact for advanced or exceptional cases. Guidelines and examples of artistic presentations of photographs in a scrapbook will be presented. The session will culminate in the production of a 12x12 heritage scrapbook page. (One Class) Paula Harrell is a professional organist and retired administrator and professor of music, but her interest in genealogy has enabled her to delve into supporting areas of genealogy such as the preservation of old letters and heirloom photographs and how they are displayed and shared. She has been gathering old family photos, papers, ephemera, etc., actively for the past 8 years but actually has saved and collected her entire lifetime. The tattered and fragile condition of some of the papers forced her to look into the proper preservation of family artifacts. Paula is an avid scrap booker and uses genealogy and family histories to make family heritage scrapbooks as coffee table books to inspire others to search their family histories.
