I got a Summer Camp letter from Mount Hermon Thank you so much for allowing us to partner with you this summer. One of the best parts of our job is knowing that we have the opportunity to make your life easier with an intentional camp experience that leads your students one step closer to Jesus. Summer 2014 is just around the corner! We have been hard at work creating and planning a camp experience that we pray God will use as a catalyst in the lives of your students. This summer our theme is “Carnival of Fools” and the tagline is “Announcing the Magnificent Acts.” Everything we do this summer flows out of 1 Peter 2:9. In this passage, Peter writes: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” This summer is all about our identity and calling as the church. Each day we will look at our identity as the people of God (chosen people, royal priesthood, holy nation, people belonging to God) and ultimately how that identity culminates in our calling to declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into his wonderful light. The schedule at Ponderosa Lodge is very intentional. We don’t just do program. Every aspect of our program is designed to take students deeper into the truth of 1 Peter 2:9. The morning program includes elements for all different learning styles—kinesthetic, auditory and visual. Additionally, everything we program is designed to be developmentally appropriate.
