Thanks Miss Dixon for coaching the team. Last Friday the District Cross Country was held at Canowindra Show Ground and golf course. Despite the cold breeze it was a successful day all round. It was superbly organised by Miss Dixon and well supported by staff from our school and parcipang schools. The P&C ran a wonderfully delicious canteen. Thank you to the organisers and helpers on the day. Last but certainly not least, our runners were fantasc on the day. Everybody tried very hard and we have 9 athletes advance to Western Region trials at Geurie on Wednesday 10th June. Miss Dixon will send notes home this week. Boys PSSA Soccer

Canowindra played Orange Small

Schools in their Round 2 PSSA match

last Tuesday. Conditions were very

wet and cold which made it extremely

hard for the boys to play their natural

passing game. Congratulations on

showing great commitment and

achievement, well done.

RIDING CAMPS

Jackaroo Ranch (est 54 years) located at Bingletree Station at Upper Turon, are again running their popular horse riding camps in the vacation.

Spring riding camps: From 20th September – 5th October come anytime from 3-10 days

Week 1 Saturday, 20th September to Saturday, 27th September

Week 2 Saturday, 27th September to Sunday, 5th October

Shorter stays are possible if camps are not fully booked.

These camps are for ‘horse mad’ children aged from 6 – 16 years. Five to six hours per day are devoted to horse activities including a one hour

lessons and three hours trail riding in the beautiful Turon Valley – with tuition still being given. As well, campers are taught grooming, saddling,

haltering, catching a horse, safety aspects and many other facets of horsemanship.

Previous experience is not necessary as beginners to advanced riders are catered for. We specialise in teaching nervous riders and developing

their confidence.

This is ‘not just a camp’ it is a wonderful farm experience your child will treasure forever.

If any family would like to hire the Shearers Quarters for a weekend, or through the week, it is available for $120 per night for a family of four, and

you self cater using a well equipped kitchen. However it can’t be hired in the school holidays because it is the accommodation for the riding

camps. When families stay, they usually hire the house as well for lessons, trail riding and birthday party rides on Saturday and Sunday.

Riding Weekends : 23rd & 24th August

6th & 7th September
