Douglas A. McAllisterDoug has two brothers and one of their names is John

and a father that he considering killing. He was 17 years and 2 months old throughout most of the book. He was born in Plattsburgh New York. He was on the brown horse in the dream. He loved animals and did not like to go hunting with his family. He dropped out of school in 1999 because he felt that school has nothing left to teach him seeing as he had finished high school math in 7th grade. He tried to get rid of all his anger by vandalizing cars and shop windows including those of his father and his brothers. He got admitted into Laurel Mountain Center For Research And Rehabilitation on June 15th, 2000. He was diagnosed under clinical depression. His father was the owner of a hardware store that he busted the window of and his mother was the clerk of that very same hardware store. Doug was the first of the four kids to get accepted into the Global Family Group Home Project.

Elijah G. RaymondElijah lost his mother when he was young but he still

loved his grandmother Mama Effie dearly. He created his own world called Tondishi. One of the major characters in his world was Samson. He was 8 years and 2 months old. He was born in Franklinton, North Carolina. He was admitted into Laurel Mountain Center For Research And Rehabilitation on October 20, 1999 with no educational status. They didn’t diagnose him with anything specific, but they assumed it was infantile autism because of all his symptoms including no eye contact, no speech, rocking motion, and reacting negatively when touched. When he got to the ARK, he seemed to enjoy life a lot better. It was if all the noise and commotion messed with his mind. Rocking and his world Tondishi was probably his escape. His way to get away from all the noise and commotion.

Harlan TurnbullHarlan Turnbull was one of the major people

running the facility (Laurel Mountain Center For Research And Rehabilitation). Mr. Turnbull has an M.D. and a PH.D. He was very intrigued by Miranda Ellenby. He believed that her intense isolation could be a kind of psychosis in itself. When Noah and Abigail Periodes selected Miranda for the Global Family Group Home Project, Mr. Turnbull disagreed with this decision and claimed that Miranda Ellenby was his patient. He knew that the Periodes were up to something and he was the one to prevent it. Mr. Turnbull captured Taryn Forrester and gave her drugs toward the end of the book. His thoughts about her all along since the beginning of the book was that she needed drugs to sustain herself. He finally decided to take the matter into his own hands after having a friend attacked by birds and after he was too attacked. He blamed both of these attacks on Taryn Forrester. This lead him even more to the idea of drugging Taryn.

SummaryThis book was very interesting in our opinion. The 4

children Miranda, Doug, Taryn, and Elijah were sent to Laurel Mountain Center For Research And Rehabilitation. From there, they were sent to a Global Family Group Home Project. Once there, they decided to name it The Ark. Many interesting things went on at The Ark. Miranda, Elijah, and Doug learned to connect just like Taryn did and they could control evil and hatred when they all connected together. They made Mr. Turnbull get hurt and they also made a boy named Timmy turn his intentions toward himself. Mr. Turnbull finally caught on to Taryn because she turned a swarm of birds on one of the parents of a child at Laurel Mountain. He kidnapped her and drugged her. It wasn’t until 8 years after this that Miranda, Doug, and Taryn finally met up again. They never found Elijah, but I expect them to find him in the 2nd book.
