How are the mind, body, and spirit connected.
Ways to keep the body health Healthy formula (CREATION)
Overview
The mind, body, and spirit are closely related.
Any setback in one area drastically impacts the other areas.
Do not focus on just one aspect of your health (example: losing weight, eating healthy, or looking younger) while ignoring other elements.
You will get the best results when you give attention to all areas of your health—mental, physical, and spiritual
Mind, Body, and Spirit Connection
Move your diet away from processed foods. Increase fiber and nutrient-rich foods. Reduce sugar and fat, especially animal fat. Use nothing that tampers with the nervous system. Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and drugs can all alter the
delicate balance of brain chemicals, not to mention the danger of addiction.
Exercise in moderation. Over-demanding exercise programs lead to giving up. Make
sure you enjoy yourself. Walking is actually the best all-around exercise.
If possible, walk in the morning sun, which has mood-elevating benefits.
Work, recreation, and social life must be kept in balance.

Healthy Formula
Make good decisions. Choice is the first step toward improved
health. You must make the choice to accept a
healthier way of living.
Choice
Rest involves getting good sleep and taking time to relax.
According to the National Sleep Foundation the recommended sleep guidelines are as follows:◦ Teenagers 14-17 years: 8 to 10 hours◦ Young adults 18-25 years: 7 to 9 hours◦ Adults 26-64 years: 7 to 9 hours◦ Older Adults>65 years: 7 to 8 hours
Relaxation lowers blood pressure and reduces stress.

Environment is our external world but also affects what happens within us for the better or worst
Example: A person growing up in an abusive environment (victimized by parent(s) or spouse) may grow up abusing self or others.

Trust in God speaks to the relationship between spirituality and healing. A link exists between faith and wellness.
Trust
Proverbs 3:5-8 calls us to acknowledge the connection of spirit and body:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.
