Success is not an accident; it is result of positive attitude and hard work.
To achieve a unit degree of success you must have all there ingredients. i.e. Intelligence, Hard work and Attitude. Absence of any one of them will not result in success. (Remember it is product term)
Fall in one ingredient can be compensated by increase in other.
e.g.: limitation of intelligence can be overcome by hard work.

Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.
Extra-ordinary talent is not always necessary for success.
With ordinary talent and extraordinary consistency, any thing is achievable in life.

Hard Work beats talent when talent fails to Work Hard.
The Dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success.
There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

MODIFIED FORMULA FOR SUCCESS
• Lets add one more term in above formula for success i.e. (1+Smartness).
• If you are one unit smart, your success will be twice, on the other hand, if you are not smart, then success will be one unit.
• Higher the smartness, higher will be the success.• Success is highly dependent on smartness.“How to Top with Minimum Study” © Pravin Kolhe. PPT downloaded from http://www.pravinkolhe.com/

Don't do rough drafts, just do the good copy straight away, but thoroughly as well.
In an exam situation you won't have time to write out a whole draft copy, so practice writing out good copies straight away.
Make sure the good copy is neat, punctuation and spelling are correct, and the information makes sense.

“How to Top with Minimum Study” © Pravin Kolhe. PPT downloaded from http://www.pravinkolhe.com/

PLANNING…
“How to Top with Minimum Study” © Pravin Kolhe. PPT downloaded from http://www.pravinkolhe.com/
People generally overestimate themselves. Initially you may fail, but after some time, planning will become your habit.
Remember: Planning is not only required during study, it is lifetime activity & it needs periodical updating.
Types of Planning:- Long term: Prepare plan for the whole semester for
complete syllabus. Short term: Plan for a week and for each topic.
38
PLANNING…
“How to Top with Minimum Study” © Pravin Kolhe. PPT downloaded from http://www.pravinkolhe.com/
3 basic questions & 3 steps of planning:-
Why >> Define Objective
How & When >> Create Roadmap
Who >> Act and Update Plan:-
1) Define Objective:- (WHY?) What you want to achieve? Write it
down on paper. e.g.:- “To Top XYZ Exam by studying
6 months” “Achieve 85% Marks in ABC Exam”
39
3 STEPS OF PLANNING…
“How to Top with Minimum Study” © Pravin Kolhe. PPT downloaded from http://www.pravinkolhe.com/
2) Create Roadmap:- (HOW & WHEN?)
Take copy of syllabus and previous years question papers.
From question paper find the important topics and chapters for each subject & list them.
List the days in your hand. Deduct the days for non-study activities (if any).
Reduce the days by 10% for Revision 10% for depression to arrive at net days.
40
3 STEPS OF PLANNING…
Now, calculate the number of days that can be allotted to each subject, by considering your interest, understanding and difficult nature of subject.
For e.g.: Easy Subject = Less Time; Difficult/New Subject = More Time and so on.
Prepare a calendar the Long Term Study Planning and keep it with you.
“How to Top with Minimum Study” © Pravin Kolhe. PPT downloaded from http://www.pravinkolhe.com/
3) Act and Update Plan:- Start acting Update the Study
Calendar every week, depending upon your progress.
Update the Study Calendar every week, depending upon your progress.
Even though you are not able to complete the planned syllabus in scheduled period, don’t worry, we have buffer of 20% time. But don’t rely on that too much.

about 10% of your mind’s capacity. Effective Listening depends on utilisation of rest 90% processing by concentration.
STEPS FOR EFFECTIVE LISTENING
“How to Top with Minimum Study” © Pravin Kolhe. PPT downloaded from http://www.pravinkolhe.com/
Demonstrate you are paying attention to what is being said by providing feedback through nodding your head.
Pay attention to what isn't said—to feelings, facial expressions, gestures, posture and other nonverbal cues.
Listen to words and try to picture what the speaker is saying.
55
Stop talking! You cannot listen while talking. Avoiding distractions or at least controlling them. Face the speaker and maintain eye contact. Judge content, not delivery; Find areas of interest. Keep your mind open; Be attentive, but relaxed. Ask questions only to ensure understanding. Wait for the speaker to pause to ask clarifying questions. Don’t interrupt and don’t impose your “solutions”
STEPS FOR EFFECTIVE LISTENING

When you feel fresh & energetic (morning): Start with theory and new topics
When you are tired, (evening): Problems and revision.
Have a look on syllabus at the start of semester.
Don’t have habit of studying on bed. Use table-chair.
Remember…! Don’t have a mentality
that firstly I will complete theory and then problems. Both should be done simultaneously.
58
WHEN & WHAT TO STUDY ?
“How to Top with Minimum Study” © Pravin Kolhe. PPT downloaded from http://www.pravinkolhe.com/
Read a topic carefully. Close your eyes and try to recollect
whatever you had studied. Do this very systematically, step-by-step
and gradually. When you stuck, open your notes and
look. NEVER try to remember a particular
numerical problem. Plan out 'trial' exams for yourself with
strict time limit.
