VIDEO

Here are some stats on our use of video during the ride.

• Shot over 60 videos uploaded to Climate Ride YouTube channel, embedded in

blog, and some shared directly to social networks.

• Many riders shared these videos on their own Facebook walls, blog posts, etc.

• Channel views passed the 12,000 mark during the NYC-DC ride.

• Tried to use (and get riders to use) Viddy, the popular ‘Instagram of Video’ app,

whose user base is growing rapidly. Viddy’s 15 second video limit was too

restrictive to do much useful with it for Climate Ride aside from quick b-roll ‘eye

candy’ shots.

Here are some site metrics from the past month:

NOTE: As you can see, visits increase significantly during the ride. Our goal should be

to increase user engagement and site interactions before and after the ride as well.

SOCIAL METRICS

Where possible, we tracked metrics and mentions via tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout

Social, Google Alerts, TweetCharts, TweetReach, and so on.

MENTIONSWe tracked both our own mentions of sponsors and donors as well as mentions of

Climate Ride on external sites, blogs, etc. We also made sure that Climate Ride was

connected to these organizations across networks by friending or following all of them.

We also tracked mentions of Climate Ride (about two dozen) on other blogs, websites,

and forums during the ride. A blog post of these mentions can be found on the Climate

Ride blog: Climate Ride NYC-DC 2012 Coverage.

SPONSOR AND IN-KIND DONOR MENTIONS

In general, the following donors and sponsors were mentioned 1-2 times per day during

the ride, primarily on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. This list was culled from those

mentioned on the Climate Ride site.

• Facebook sends more traffic to the Climate Ride site than all the other social networks combined.
