The Bill of Rights:A,B, C’s

Grants the freedom of religion, speech, press, gathering together (assembly), and the right to gather signatures about issues and sent them to the government(petition).

A is for Apple: I can’t talk with an apple in my mouth.

First Amendment

Grants the right to keep and carry weapons, or arms.

B is for Banana, bananas are shaped like guns.

Second Amendment

Protects people from having the military stay in their homes.

C is for couch: you don’t have to allow the soldiers to stay in your home and sleep on your couch.

Third Amendment

Protects people from being searched and having things taken from them, or seized.

D is for dog, police dogs do not have the right to come into your house without a warrant.

Fourth Amendment

Give every citizen the right to due process of law. This means that the law must be followed by the government as well as citizens.

E is for egg, this means you don’t have to testify against yourself(or fry yourself) in court.

Fifth Amendment

Gives people accused of a crime the right to a speedy trial.

F is for football, like a football team your trial must take place in a “speedy” manner.

Sixth Amendment

Give the right to a civil trial by jury.

G is for gate, the rail that a jury sits behind in the courtroom kind of looks like a fence or gate.

Seventh Amendment

Protects people from cruel and unusual punishment by the government.

H is for horse, long ago people were quarter (pulled apart into 4 different pieces) using horses.

Eight Amendment

Means that people have a lot of rights, even ones that are not written in the Constitution.

I is for Ice Cream, like Baskin Robbins's there are many different rights.

Ninth Amendment

Says that any power not given to the federal government is given to either the state or to the people.

J is for Juice, Florida is know for their orange juice, states have their own rights.

Tenth Amendment
