HISTORY OF FLAG FOOTBALL• Flag football started because it was safer than tackle

football

• Flag football was really popular on military bases.

• Flag football is officially dated back to 1933.

• The first flag football organization was formed in the 1960s

• The University of New Orleans hosted the first college flag football championship in 1979.

FLAG FOOTBALL RULES• Each team can only have 14 players

• There are no fumbles. The ball is dead where it lands.

• Each team has two time outs per half

• There are no fake punts on 4th down.

• Players can’t wear hats or bandanas
