Timeline of the Computers

1936- Z1 Computer

Z1 Computer was created by Konrad Zuse, a German civil engineer. The first attempt were a binary calculator that only solved math equations.

The blueprints were then destroyed in WWII.

1937-Antanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC)

• The First electronic computing device that only solved linear equations. Was invented by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry in 1942.

1944- IBM Automatic Sequence Controlled Calculator (Mark I)

The first operating machine that could process many information. It has 60 sets of 24 switches and could store 72 numbers each 25 decimals long.

1946- ENIAC Computer

The “Electric Numeric Integrator and Computer “ or ENIAC is also a calculator which has thirty units, twenty of them were accumulators . It was a decimal machine which means all the accumulators start from zero(0) to nine(9).

1948- Manchester “Baby 'Bay

• The world's first stored-program electronic digital computer program that ran on June 21, 1947.

1958- Integrated Circuit

Was the first electric circuit that was inserted into a computer. IT is like a light switch. It turns on the flow of electricity to the computer. The Integrated Circuit affected the whole history of computers .

1984- Macintosh computer

• Released with much fanfare in January of 1984, the Macintosh was the first affordable computer to include a Graphical User Interface. It was built around the new Motorola 68000 chip, which was significantly faster than previous processors.

• The Mac came in a small case with a black and white monitor built in. It came with a keyboard and mouse, and had a floppy drive.

• The first personal computer to do so. It originally sold for $2,495.

2001- iBook The iBook was first introduced May 2001 and was produced on the same year in October. The iBook was much smaller than its predecessor, and included a faster G3 processor, more RAM, VGA out, stereo speakers, and had a HD resolution screen. It also was the first Mac to include a "Combo" DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive in the model.

2006- iMac ProThe Mac pro was introduced in October 2006 and released in June 2007. The Mac pro was “the fastest computer in apple”. It had faster Intel Core 2 Duo processors and an HD resolution screen. The mac sold in 3 types of sizes and cost about 2000$.

2008- Macbook air

• Designed to balance performance, a full-sized laptop keyboard design and with casing with low weight and thickness, the macbook air surpassed the macbook with higher resolution , even faster processors and was inspired by ultra books from other companies.
