Aphrodite is also known as Venus and many other names. Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty. And some people also call her the goddess of war. The other names are Cythera and Cyprus.

This is a picture of Aphrodite’s rock. It’s called Aphrodite’s Rock because that

is supposedly the birthplace of Aphrodite. Sirens also go to the rock to make them beautiful. She was also carried by a girdle shell that led her to this land and the shell gave her, her power of love. All of the gods and goddess's were born adults because all of them and monsters are born adults.

Once a sailor named Brutes was on his ship and then he hears the Siren’s song. He immediately jumped out of his boat and started swimming toward the beautiful noise. Aphrodite made the current strong enough and safe enough to carry him to shore far away from the sound.

Aphrodite has a large family tree. Some people think that Hera is her

mother and others think that Cronus threw his severed genitals in the foam of the sea and created Aphrodite. She also has a son named Aros or cupid and many more.

Aphrodite has a large family tree. Some people think that Hera is her

mother and others think that Cronus threw his severed genitals in the foam of the sea and created Aphrodite. She also has a husband named Hephaestus. She also has a son named Aros or cupid and many more. She also has many other children (13 to 14). Their names are Harmonia (witch is the only girl), Hemeros, Pothos, Phobos, Demos, Rhodes and many others.

This is a picture of Aphrodite’s family tree.

This is a picture of Aphrodite on a vase (close up).

She is one of the twelve gods who lives in Mount Olympus.

This picture shows Mount Olympus.

Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena were arguing over witch one is the most beautiful( they were also fighting over a golden apple that says "to the fairest” in Greece). So they had a contest They let the mortal man named Paris (a king) be the judge. They quickly went to bribe him.

Hera bribed him with power and Aphrodite bribed him with the most beautiful women in the world. Witch was Helen. Of course Aphrodite won the contest and the golden apple. Aphrodite did as she said and let him go away with Helen. But Helen was already married to another king and that’s what supposedly caused the Trojan war. Some people blame it on Aphrodite.

This is a picture of the golden apple. The writing on the apple says “to the

fairest” in Greece.

In this picture it shows her and her symbols. Aphrodite is holding a dove, her on the scallop shell, and dolphins jumping in the background. The dove means peace and love. The swan means beauty. The rose means love and beauty and dolphin is unknown.

The myrtle tree is supposedly her tree. Doves, swans and, the sparrows are her birds.

In the colorful picture she is on the scallop shell and she is holding the dove.

As you know since Aphrodite is the goddess of love everybody would love her and it is true. But she only liked a few of them which two were mortals.

Adonis was one of her mortal lovers. He was killed during hunting. He died by a wild boar who trampled him. She fell in love with him because of his beauty. Ankhises is another mortal that she loved. He died hunting as well. All the mortals that she loved all died. She is now together with Ares the god of war.

Who is Aphrodite’s son you might say is cupid or Aros. Cupid as we all know can make people fall in love with each other by striking them with his arrows. Cupid is also the god of love because he is her son.

Aphrodite does have brother’s and sister’s.

The brother’s names are Kronos, Koios, Krios, Iapetos, Hyperion and Okeanos.

The sisters names are Rhea, Theia, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, Themis, Tethys and possibly Dione.

The famous poem about Aphrodite was called the Iliad her personality in the poem is different than what other people think. Most people think that her personality is very attractive and a very beautiful goddess. The Iliad poem thinks of her more as weak and very frightful.

Zeus (or some people say it was Hera) picked her to be married and also picked the guy. He/she knew men and gods would fight to marry her. So he/she made her marry the most ugly looking god. He was Zeus’s son Hephaestus. Aphrodite didn’t like this so she did what she called an “open marriage” and dated other gods and also mortals. Hephaestus did this also.
