Governance to E-Governance

Technology is a Enabling factor

The process of Registration of Births and Deaths is one of the primary activities of the state and UT. The outputs of these activities is the issue of Birth certificate and Death certificate.

NIC, Andaman state unit and DHS undertook a project in 2007-08 to computerize the registration process with the concept of “Services” delivery to stakeholders including Citizens, field offices, Head office of DHS, Other offices.

The project was named “BIRDS” – for Online web based Registration of Birth and Deaths in the entire A & N Islands.
