OUR FATHER

This is saying we have a strong relationship with Our Father, as we are his children. This is relevant to us now because we no God today as our father.

WHO ART IN HEAVEN

The superb being that is watching over us. This relates to us today because he is still in heaven looking down upon us and watching over us.

HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME Respecting his name a great and Holy. This is relevant to us today because we still recognise God’s name as Holy.

YOUR KINGDOM COME

It means let us be closer to your kingdom, which is heaven. This is relevant because everyone still wants to be in heaven.

YOUR WILL BE DONE

This means that we will listen to you and follow your commands. This is relevant to today because most people still want to please God.

ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN We want God to help us and steer us away from evil. This is relevant to today as we still ask God for help and forgiveness and to steer us away from evil.

GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD This means we are asking for our necessities in life, which are just the basic tasks that we need. This is relevant to today as we still ask for the necessities but sometimes even more then that.

AND FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES

This just means that we want God to forgive what we have done in our past and help us. This is relevant to today because we still ask for forgiveness.

AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US

For forgiving us, we will forgive others so we can show we are christens. This is relevant to us today as we ask for forgiveness.

AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION

Do not put us into temptation of our own desires that will not help us in life. This is relevant to us today as we look to you help.

BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

Even though we don’t want to get all of our desires, just don’t lead us into the evilness of the devil. This is relevant to us today as because we still ask God to protect us from the devil.

AMEN

Amen means, “so be it” and that means that we wish this to happen. This is relevant to us today as we end our prayers with Amen.
