To ask what time it is, use:

Es la una.Es la una.

Son las + hour. :Son las + hour. :

To say it is one o’clock, use:

To give the time for every hour (except one o’clockone o’clock), use:

• Say the hour + y + the minutes passed. • For a quarter of an hour – use “cuarto.”• For half an hour – use “media.”

Ejemplos:

Es la una y diez. (1:10) Son las tres y cuarto. (3:15) Son las diez y media. (10:30)

To tell the time when it is 30 minutes or less past the hour:

When you talk about the time things happen use, “A qué hora.”
