-The Beatles were an English pop band of the 60s, and one of the most successful and recognized so far,

In 1965, Queen Elizabeth II appointed the four Beatles Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).

-It was founded in Liverpool in 1960, in its origins there were five members, including Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffey (bass), Pete Best (drums).

-In 1961, Sutcliffey left the band, and Best was replaced by Starr the following year. So the final members were:

John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocal), Paul McCartney (Bass, vocal), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocal) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocal).

-They came to be perceived as the embodiment of progressive ideals, seeing their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s.

• GROUP FORMATION (1957-1962)• The Beatles were formed in Liverpool, and was

founded by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and friends of Lennon, who left the band, and then George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best, joined, Best would be replaced by Ringo Starr on Drums, and Sutcliffe by Paul on Bass.

• During these years the band was becoming known playing in cities like Liverpool and Hamburg ...

• BEATLAMANIA (1963-1966)• However, in October 1962, having met her

faithful manager Brian Epstein, they managed to record their first single globally recognized: “Love me do”, which sold one hundred thousand copies, and already in 1963 their first number one in the UK: “Please please me ”.

• Having reached number one in U.K. and Europe, they decided to launch the U.S. but it took almost a year since the country's main label, (Capitol Records), refused to release their works.

• After the release of songs like "she loves you" or “I wan to hold your hand", success was unleashed throughout the country.

• The band made many tours, interviews, TV shows and even movies like A Hard Days Night and Help!, and the release of albums such as "Beatles for sale", "A Hard Day's Night "and" Rubber Soul "recorded in those years.

THE BEATLES HISTORY• FINAL YEARS (1966-1970)• After the release and super success of "Revolver," which came to be considered along with

"Rubber Soul" one of the musicals breaks the story of The Beatles gave their last live concert in San Francisco in 1966. It marked the end of a four-year period dominated by touring that included about 1,400 concert appearances internationally.

• Seven months later, they began to compose Sgt. Peppers Lonely Club Band which will come to invest over 700 hours of study, and would be considered by such magazines as Rolling Stone, as the best album of all time.

• Later in June of that year they released their new single , "All you need is love," appeared in the middle of the Summer of Love had him adopt as a flower power anthem.

• Two months later they receiver the news that his loyal producer Epstein was dead, so they left the group, and made him worry about his future.

• And after the release of their latest albums ( “Abbey Road" and “Let it Be" ) , and due to many contradictions among them, McCartney released a solo album , and announced the breakup of the group, McCartney filed a suit for dissolution the Beatles in December 1970 but it was not just the official solution , until 1975 , each one followed his path as solo artists or forming new groups.

• John Winston Ono Lennon

• Born in Liverpool, UK, October 9, 1940 - died in New York, United States, December 8,1980, he was a multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, and one of the founders members of The Beatles.

• Lennon formed The Beatles with members of his first band, The Quarrymen skiffle group that was formed in 1956 at fifteen years old.

• Lennon and Ono were married on March 20, 1969

• Lennon left The Beatles in September 1969

• “Imagine” his album was released in 1971. The album's title track would become an anthem for anti-war movements, and also his most famous song after the breakup of The Beatles song.

• Lennon and Ono moved to New York in 1971, and released "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)". To promote a message, "WAR IS OVER-IF YOU WANT SO." The Nixon Administration made countermeasures against Lennon's pacifist spam, embarking on a four-year attempt to try to deport him.

• After his self-imposed retirement from the music business in 1975 to devote time to his family, he returned in 1980 with Double Fantasy. Lennon was murdered three weeks after the launch.

• James Paul McCartney

• Was born in Liverpool, on June 18, 1942 and he is a multi instrumentalist, singer, composer, record producer, painter. Former member of the Quarrymen (1957-1959), The Beatles (1960-1970) and Wings (1971-1981).

• Paul McCartney wrote his first song, "I Lost My Little Girl", when he started writing songs with John Lennon. The next song was "When I'm Sixty-Four".

• At the age of 15, McCartney joined John Lennon and The Quarrymen, and collaborated writing many songs with Lennon. They finally changed the name of the group to The Beatles in 1960

• In March 1969, McCartney married Linda Eastman

• The lack of motivation for the continuity of the group, and the growing interest of each member in emerging solo career makes in 1970 McCartney announced his intention to leave The Beatles.

• After the breakup of The Beatles in 1970, began a solo career and formed Wings in 1971, after the death of Lennon decided not to give tours, and after various discussions decided to disband the group.

• Later, McCartney began his career at Lone, and worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, and gave solo tours which received much recognition and success

• Born in Liverpool, UK, February 25, 1943 - Los Angeles, Died in the United States on November 29, 2001. He was a musician, composer, singer, record producer and film British producer.

• Harrison wrote his first song, "Do not Bother Me", in 1963.

• A major turning point in his career came during the 1965 American tour, when he was introduced in the Indian culture through the music of Ravi Shankar.

• Harrison married Pattie Boyd, in 1966, divorced in the late 60s

• Another important point in his life took place during the filming of the movie Help!, When a Hindu delivered him a book about reincarnation. His interest in Indian culture made he embrace Hinduism.

• As time passed, Harrison compositions were becoming more noticeable, from the background to compete with Lennon and McCartney compositions in quality.

• After the dissolution of The Beatles in 1970, he published much of the material that had accumulated over the years in his project, “All Things Must Pass”, the first triple album in music history.

• Harrison was also the first musician to organize a benefit concert.

• All Things Must Pass was a triumphant entry for the solo career of Harrison and silencing dissenting voices that predicted a bad race for him, becoming number one in charts in Britain and U.S.A

• In 1978, Harrison married for a second time with Olivia Trinidad Arias. Shortly thereafter, his only born son Dhani Harrison,

• At mid-90s, due in part to their smoking status, Harrison fought a battle against cancer

• Harrison suffering cancer reappeared in 2001. Despite aggressive treatment, he soon discovered that it was terminal, immediately deciding to spend his last days with family and working on some projects to be completed later by his wife and son.

• Richard Starkey

• Born in Liverpool, United Kingdom July 7, 1940 is an American musician, singer, songwriter and British actor.

• In the fall of 1960, and after numerous concerts with his band Rory Storm and the Hurricanes in his native Liverpool, played in Hamburg, Germany, where he met The Beatles. Repeatedly replaced Pete Best on drums because of his absence, and became close friends with the guys in the band.

• On August 14, John Lennon asked him if he wanted to join The Beatles and agreed. Two days later, Brian Epstein, the group's representative, ousted Pete Best

• In 1965 he married Maureen Tigrett, with whom he had three children.

• After the breakup of The Beatles on 10 April 1970, Ringo continued a musical solo career and an emerging film career

• The musical impact and commercial success of Starr began to decline gradually since the mid-1970s

• Atlantic ( his record label) tried to modernize Ringo focusing on producing a new album, Ringo the 4th (1977), to the R & B and disco, the disc was a new commercial failure, and journalists claimed that the disc they destroyed his career and was not able to recover commercially since.

• After the commercial failure Ringo parked musicl, to work in cinema, where he met Barbara Bach, whom he married to in 1981.

• In 1880 the music resumes, and after the death of Lennon, composed Stop and Smell the Roses, became his greatest commercial success.

• In 1988, Starr was a rehab to treat his alcoholism. Once recovered from his addition, Ringo Starr & His created Ringo All-Starr Band, with whom he had greater success.

• The group was inducted into the Hall of Fame Rock and Roll in 1988.
