This may be one of the most surprising names in the list of

God’s Hall of Fame.

So how did a prostitute get into God’s Hall of Fame?

So why did she do this?

Joshua 2:9-11, “and said to them, ‘I know that the LORD

has given this land to you and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of

you. We have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when

you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the

Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely

destroyed. When we heard of it, our hearts melted and

everyone's courage failed because of you, for the LORD

your God is God in heaven above and on the earth

below.’”

Somewhere along the way she turned her back on her pagan gods and began to

believe in the one true God of the Israelites.

In one shining moment of redemption God turned her shame into His glory!

NO ONE is beyond the grace of our great God!

No one.

Joshua 6:25, “But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who

belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent

as spies to Jericho--and she lives among the

Israelites to this day.”

Jesus was a descendent of hers!

This is a story about the amazing grace of God!

No matter how low someone has sunk in their life, God has

the power to work a miraculous saving work IN

them and then work THROUGH them to impact

their world!

LESSONS FOR US:

We are to treat our Rahabs as they did!

God still chooses to work His work through people even though we have a

lot of weaknesses!

God can change ANYONE and empower them to impact

their world for Him.
