Albert the bull goes back years to the early 1964’s. Albert’s hide is made of several coats of concrete. Thousands of people enjoy visiting Albert the bull each year. He is in Audubon Iowa.
B is for Buffalo bill Cody He was born on the day of February 26,1846 near Le Claire Iowa. He died January 10,1917 in Denver Colorado. He earned the medal of honor.
C is for Cardiff giant.The Cardiff giant is one of the most famous hoaxes in the United States History. It was a 10 feet tall man who was found while workers were digging a well. The Cardiff giant is a stone petrified man with his hand on his stomach and the other on his back.
D is for Des Moines Iowa Des Moines is the capital of Iowa. It is the biggest state in Iowa! It got it’s name from fort Des Moines.
E is for Edison ThomasThomas Edison was a famous inventor who lived in Iowa. At the age of nine he received a physics book and began studying. He invented the phonograph, and the long lasting light bulb.
F is for Farming Iowa leads the nation for land usage of farming. 92% of Iowa's farming land. Approximately 12 million acres of corn were harvested in Iowa in the year of 1999
G is for Grenville Dodge.
Grenville Dodge was a famous Iowan for fighting in the Civil war. He also was an engineer in the Civil war. He became a politician in July 1866 after realizing his reputation.
H IS FOR HERBERT HOVERHis full name Is Herbert Clark Hover. He was born in West Branch Iowa on the day of August 10, 1874. He served as President from 1929-1933. He died of internal bleeding in New York on the day of October 20, 1964 he aged 90.
I is for Ice ageIowa’s ice age goes back 20,000 years ago. There were 11 ice ages , the ice ages were during the 4.6 billion years of history. The last ice age was called” The great ice age.” and was 11,000 years ago.
J is for John WayneHe played war hero in countless films, but was never in the military. He played football in college. He wore 4 inch lifts in his shoes. He was born in Winterset Iowa.
K is for Keokuk
Keokuk was a famous Indian chief who was very young when he killed a rival Sioux warrior. He grew up in Tama Iowa.
L IS FOR LOU HENRY HOVER
She was born in Waterloo Iowa on March 29, 1874. She died in New York with her husband Herbert Hover
M is for Mississippi
The Mississippi river runs along the east side of Iowa. It drains 40% of the U.S.A., it is 2,348 miles long, it covers 40% of the country. It almost cuts the USA in half starting from Louisiana- Michigan.
N is for Native AmericansNative Americans have been in Iowa for over 1,000 years. They started with things they made out of animals and trees, then white men came to trade they got furs, skins, and guns.
P is for prarie
It is estimated that 0.1% of Iowa’s prairie remains. The scattered animals are dying of thirst and hunger.
O is for Ordway John
He lived from 1775-1817, he was the youngest of ten. He was an important part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Q is for Quaker Oats Company
The packaging oats as a breakfast cereal began in 1856 when Iowa oat factory owner Ferdinand attempted to make a product for the market.

The massacre took place in March 8-12, 1857. It was an attack by a Wahpetuke band of Sioux warriors on scattered Iowa frontier settlements.

On the morning of June 10, 1912 a small community in Villisca Iowa, 8 people had been brutally murdered. A guy that nobody knew sunk in their house on the top window in the middle of the night.

Wendy’s parents are my aunt and uncle Gary and Sue usdeore. She plays women's basketball for Iowa Hawkeyes # 32. Her most points in a game is 29 vs. Illinois. She was born in 9/22/1986, and went to Try-center for high school.
