The early days, we met alternately at the Police Club and the Old Parkonians Sports Club in the grounds at Redbridge sports centre where this first group photo was taken. It is good to see that all the “Parky People” in the photo still regularly attend.

• Ron decided he would like a cruise for his birthday. Does Harlow up river towards Bishops Stortford count? On the way we enjoyed some home made wine, shipboard romances and gourmet cuisine.

Keep fit• Gay, who worries about everyone,

arranged a keep fit class once a week at Redbridge Sports Centre. It was funded by a government backed initiative “Fit For Fun”. When this ended we were fortunate to receive further funding from Redbridge
