What is a Radiographer?

A radiologist is someone who analyses peoples ultrasound, x-rays, CAT/CT scans (computed tomography), MRI’s (magnetic resonance imaging) PET’s (positron emission tomography)and Nuclear medicine (explained in the next slide). They scan peoples bodies to either diagnose them with something or analyse someone’s broken bone’s.

Positron emission tomography

PET scans are full body scans that can create 3D images of the body. PET scans use minimal amounts of radiation to reduce chances of cancer.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

A Magnetic Resonance Image(MRI) is a more detailed x-ray usually on organs to see how they function and what might be wrong with their system. It uses strong magnetic imaging that wave through the body.
