Dear Colleagues,

Prestige, victory, excellence and fame – these words are a beautiful melody, especially when an individual has worked very hard to achieve success. And when one has achieved it, the fruit is either an award or a blessing.

But who knew that an award could have a secret ally to introduce? Surprisingly, for the Corporate Communications Department (CCD) the ally turned out to be an explosion of fun by way of incentivized trip to Australia. Earlier this month, the team was invited by the Queensland Tourism to recognize CCD team’s brilliant work for making it to the Top-20 Million Dollar Memo (MDM) amateur video competition. The team was fortunate enough to witness the amalgamation of the two coveted terms- Fun and Awards. This revelation and sweet serendipity was not only blissful but it also helped team pack some beautiful memories that would be cherished for a lifetime.

My heart is filled with immense gratitude to all those who supported and encouraged the team, to turn our participation into victory.

Whilst the CCD savored these beautiful moments, many fellow Datamaticians got recognized for their excellent performance at the Datamatics Annual Awards function across various offices.

An award possesses an incredible power that can raise the spirits of the individual who receives it and also of the team that provides support and encouragement to the winners.

Hence, Keep the spirits high & keep winning!

Warm Regards,

Varad K. Arora

dr. Kanodia’s sPeeCH - annual awardsAt the Annual Awards function Dr. Kanodia gave an invigorating speech, congratulating all the award-winners and praising their contribution to the Company’s growth. He briefed the audience about the recent milestones and achievements of the Company and also outlined his vision for the Company.

Dr. Kanodia also spoke about NASSCOM’s prediction about the expected growth rate of Indian IT industry, which is twice the proposed rate of GDP. A related good news as pointed out by him was the fact that the revenue per employee was also on the increase.

He also mentioned about the economic turbulences in other parts of the worlds that had ripple effects on the Indian markets. However, he quickly reassured the audience by pointing out that the economic pendulum was swinging towards Asia and that India had several achievements to be proud of even on the back of the recent economic crises. These include being the world’s largest producer of several food grains, having the world’s largest cardiac hospital for children and institutions like the IITs and the IIMs. India is also among the top in the world in mobile phone and internet usage.

However, this observation was tempered by the several teething problems that India faces currently. Dr. Kanodia pointed out the numerous fiscal scams and endemic poverty as the chief among them. He urged everyone to raise their voices against these vices. He iterated that a progressively younger demographic was a saving grace for India’s future as was the IT industry to its GDP.

dr. Kanodia’s sPeeCH - annual awardsDr. Kanodia moved on to DGSL and its achievements in the past financial year about which there were several heartening stories to tell. He reminded the audience that for the financial year, 2011-12, Dataquest had listed Datamatics as the fastest growing software Company listed in India. Also, CSRIL has rated Datamatics at A1+, the highest rating available for Indian companies. Dr. Kanodia expects the Company to continue the growth momentum and grow at 22-25% in the current fiscal without taking mergers and acquisitions into account as contrasted to the average IT industry growth of 10.2%. He stressed that the Company would continue to grow at a rapid pace in the coming fiscal as well and stated that in line with most of the top firms of the day, this will be achieved in a large part through mergers and acquisitions. Dr. Kanodia also spoke about the future of the industry in general and pointed out Cloud Computing, Big Data, Analytics, Open Source, Mobility and e-Publishing as being the next big movers of the market.

Dr. Kanodia also highlighted the two problems that according to him have been plaguing Datamatics. The first among them is the amount of money being spent on personnel. He laid out a plan for reducing the amount which included moving out to tier 2 cities, correcting the pyramid structure of the Company and having a smaller bench. The second problem was a need for greater organic growth for which he stressed on better lead generation, better account management and greater focus on techniques such as direct marketing to win customers.

The performance of the support departments was praised highly for its contribution towards smooth running of the Company. Praise was also showered on the company as a whole for being ranked 14th in the category “Dream Company to Work in” at the World HRD Congress and on several other individual award winners at the same event. Also, Dr. C.M. Dwivedi, Divya Kumat and Varad Kamini won individual awards from several prestigious institutions and forums. Vidur Bhogilal was adjudged the runner-up for the “Excellence in Mergers and Acquisitions” award at the 9th India CFO Awards.

Dr. Kanodia ended his speech by stating that ‘he has a dream’ for this Company as Martin Luther King, Jr. had for his society. He would like to make this Company reach revenues of $1 billion in about 5 years from now. He urged everyone in the Company to help him along in his dream in the line of John F. Kennedy, “Ask not what your Company can do for you. Ask what you can do for your Company”!!

TeCHgeeKSafe and Sure:Beautiful place, lovely people, amazing friends, peace, contentment! Yet, you are in bed sans the will or the mood to enjoy any of these niceties!

Who’s the culprit? Unfiltered water.

Yes, we have all either experienced this or have heard of such incidents. But, the solution is finally here. Buy NDūR Advanced Portable Filtration Water Bottle and drink just about any water safely. Yes, you can fill your water bottle from that stream you found while hiking. You can fill it up at the sketchy water fountain that looks a bit rusty.

NDūR’s Portable Filtration Devices have been extensively laboratory and field-tested, using EPA protocols, to NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 53 by Broward Testing Laboratory. Each of these devices contains an Advanced Filter that uses the advanced technology of Seychelle. It eliminates up to 99.9% of micro-organisms, up to 99.99% of all chemicals and heavy metals, and up to 99.9999% of viruses and bacteria.
