PREPARATION:Based on the surface you are using, if necessary, lightly sand surface until smooth, apply sealer and when dry, sand again lightly to knock down any raised grain. Do not sand MDF.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS:Basecoat the surface Whispering Turquoise. Using the Palmer 2” brush drybrush the background Warm White to soften.

Trace on the pattern. Shade around main pattern and the outer edge of entire plaque and around oval to sep-arate from bottom sign area with Winter Blue. Tape off around “Welcome Friends” area. Shade inside Winter Blue. Line stitching Warm White.. It is not necessary to shade around the stems and berries.

Tip:I like my designs to have a very soft finish so I drybrush most pieces with Warm White.

Sheep:Basecoat the face Warm White. Shade Antique White. Drybrush cheeks Coral Blush, start soft then press harder depending on how much color you need; dot Warm White. Line nose, eyes and mouth Lamp Black. Dot pupils Warm White. Basecoat ears Lamp Black and soften by drybrushing lightly with Warm White. Stipple the hair Warm White

Headband and Bow: Basecoat Moon Yellow; shade True Ochre. Drybrush Warm White. Line and dot Lamp Black. Basecoat but-ton center Warm White. Float a shade on the left side Heritage Brick. Drybrush again very softly Warm White. Line thread and dot Lamp Black.

Line little curl Lamp Black.

Dress: Basecoat Wasabi Green; Shade Hauser Medium Green. Drybrush Warm White to soften. Line plaid and stitching Warm White. Basecoat top button Moon Yellow; shade left side True Ochre; drybrush Warm White. Basecoat middle button Purple Cow; shade left side Purple Rain; drybrush Warm White. Basecoat bottom button Warm White; shade left side Heritage Brick; drybrush Warm White. Line all threads and dot Lamp Black.

Ruffle:Basecoat Moon Yellow; shade True Ochre; drybrush Warm White. Using a stitch stroke line lettering Lamp Black. Dot randomly Lamp Black. Basecoat hearts Warm White; float a shade on left side Heritage Brick; highlight right side Warm White. Basecoat buttons

Wasabi Green; shade Hauser Medium Green; drybrush Warm White. Line threads and bows Lamp Black.

Using thin, irregular wavy lines outline dress and flounce in Lamp Black.

Thinly line arms Lamp Black. Basecoat hands Lamp Black; lightly drybrush to soften using Warm White.

Basecoat legs Lamp Black.

Basecoat boots Lamp Black; drybrush Warm White to soften. Line and cross stitch Lamp Black. Line bow Green Tea; highlight the bow with Warm White lines. Basecoat cuffs Purple Cow; shade Purple Rain; drybrush Warm White to soften. Line stitching Warm White. Dot Green Tea.

All Stems and Vines: Line stems and vines Hauser Medium Green. Basecoat leaves Wasabi Green; shade Hauser Medium Green; line veins Hauser Medium Green. Basecoat berries Warm White; float a shade on left side Heritage Brick; highlight right side Warm White. Dot Warm White.

All Ladybugs: Basecoat bodies Lamp Black; very lightly drybrush Warm White. Dot eyes Warm White. Basecoat wings Primary Red. Drybrush Warm White. Float a highlight on the top of each wing Warm White. Dot Lamp Black. Line antennas Lamp Black.

Caterpillar: Basecoat body Moon Yellow. Shade body sections with True Ochre. Softly drybrush Warm White. Dot Lamp Black. Basecoat head Lamp Black. Shade along top of head Warm White. Dot eyes Warm White. Dot pupils Lamp Black. Line antennas Lamp Black.

Dragonfly:Basecoat body and head Purple Cow; shade around head and bottom of body Purple Rain. Drybrush Warm White to soften. Float shade small lines to show body definition. Dot eye Lamp Black. Dot pupil Warm White. Line antennas Lamp Black. Base wings Warm White. Float shade a soft glaze over wings Green Tea. Dry-brush softly Warm White. Line veins Lamp Black.

Ant:Basecoat entire ant Lamp Black. Line legs and anten-nas Lamp Black. Lightly drybrush with Warm White to soften. Line bow, stripes and dots Warm White.

Bird:Basecoat French Mauve; shade Frosted Plum; dry-brush the body and tail feathers Warm White to soften. Shade around outside of wing Frosted Plum. Highlight inside of wing with a light float of Warm White. Dry-brush cheeks Heritage Brick. Line and dot eye Lamp Black. Dot pupil Warm White. Dot body and line tail feathers Warm White. Line bow Lamp Black. Basecoat beak and feet Moon Yellow. Shade True Ochre. Line Lamp Black.

Bee: Basecoat body Moon Yellow; shade True Ochre; dry-brush Warm White. Line Lamp Black. Basecoat head, button and stinger Lamp Black. Drybrush Warm White to soften. Line bow Lamp Black; highlight with a line of Warm White. Line and dot thread in button Warm White. Basecoat wings Warm White. Line around wings Lamp Black.

Welcome Friends:Using stencil and Lamp Black stencil or line with Wel-come Friends.

Butterfly: Basecoat Body and Head Lamp Black. Softly drybrush Warm White. Dot eye Warm White. Line and dot antennas Lamp Black. Basecoat wings Warm White. Float shade coming out from where wings meet body using Mocha. Float shade again along center of each wing using Mocha. Float shade along edge of wing us-ing Heritage Brick. Outline Lamp Black. Line bow and strings Lamp Black. Dot wings Warm White.

FINISHING:Lightly spray several coats of DecoArt Matte Sealer/Finishing Spray. Allow to dry between coats.
