HSSEispartofasocialfranchisemodelthatworks.TherearecurrentlyeightSSEsacrossthecountryandtheframeworkhasexistedsince1997.Itcostsapproximately£10,000toputastudentthroughthisprogramme.Researchontheirimpacthasshownthatforeachstudentventure,3–4jobsand7–10volunteeringopportunitiesarecreated.Over75%ofventuressetupbythestudentsareinstillinexistence.

Usingthe2010Hampshiremedianaveragehourlywage,thismeansthateachHSSEventuregeneratesapproximately£64,877ofpaidworkandtheequivalentof£151,375ofvolunteertime.Individualcompanyturnoverisadditional.
