Novel is a type of literature that provides reading entertainment and

pleasure. Also, the word novel means new, fresh or something original.

Combining these two means we books and reads which are sure to be fancied

regardless of our buyers preferences, age or gender. Whatever title that would

come into mind, we strive to provide to our customers satisfaction.

COLORS

Green, even since ancient times, has always represented abundance. We

believe that the abundance of knowledge in books is ought to be shared so that

our minds will be cultivated.In addition, the color green is believed to relax the eyes. Good vision is

essential for progress and we want our company and patrons to succeed in our

endeavors.

Orange embodies a flame that provides warmth and life. Fostering a warm

relationship with our customers and employees is what we want to have and

maintain. This color also exudes a happy and joyful atmosphere. This kind of

atmosphere induces a clear mind making it open for new knowledge and

imagination.

A book signifies knowledge. Ever since man has invented the art of

writing, much of human knowledge has been put into books and paper. An open

book is an invitation for anyone to come and discover the knowledge and the

wonderful world inside it.

The different tiers and hues of the book pages in our logo represent the

different personalities and preferences of our patrons. Considering the differences

of our customers choices conveys an accommodating atmosphere.

A Novel Idea is a new Bookstore Business located at Gil Fernando Ave.,

cor Sumulong Hiway, Sto Nio, Marikina City. This area is well known for its

upscale residents and high quality establishment. This is an excellent locationsince it is across the street from the Blue Wave shopping mall.

A Novel Idea will be a limited liability partnership registered in the state

of Marikina City. The company will be jointly owned by Ms. Lanilyn Fernandez

and Ms. Michelle Joyce Yango.

Our companys mission is to become the premier source of books in our

community and a valuable resource to our customers. We provide wide variety

of books, and an open environment that promotes knowledge and growth. We

exist to add joy to customers lives. We anticipate their needs and exceed their

expectation. Above all, we want to spread the love of reading and learning in the

community and our Vision is to create richer, more satisfying lives through

knowledge and entertainment. The companys Objectives are to be able to sell

books at affordable prices for the average Pilipino, to acquire local market share

in the bookstore industry, to provide quality product with competitive price, to be

in good partnership with our customers, employees, and the society. To serve our

customers with all information they need to make the best book choices, to attain

and maintain a position as the major source of books and magazine in greater

supervising, training and evaluating the bookstore personnel. To be followed by

Assistant Manager Michelle Joyce Yango, her responsibility is to assist with

planning, directing and coordinating sales, services and operational functions as

directed by the Manager. The Supervisors duty is generally supervising,

coordinating and assisting in the daily operations of the bookstore; the Supervisor

prepares a variety of sales records and reports. The supervisor will head the stock

aide control, sales clerk, cashier and security officer.

1.5 Management

shop that offers delicious and beautifully decorated cupcakes, tarts, cookies and

more in our bookstore area we offer a dominant selection of products, a

We want to open a bookstore business because firstly, we want to help the

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree in Business Administration and three years' bookstore

operations experience which includes one year supervisory experience; or, Five years'

progressively responsible bookstore operations experience, which includes one year

supervisory experience; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or

education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

ASSISTANT BOOKSTORE MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisted with planning, directing and coordinating sales, service and operational

functions as directed by the Manager.

Resolved clientele problems concerning textbooks, supplies, services, and billing

as assigned by the Manager.

Made budget recommendations.

Conferred with Manager in formulating and implementing policies and

Attended and represented the Bookstore at regional and national meetings.

SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, supervises, coordinates and assists in the

daily operations of the bookstore including the e-commerce web site; oversees the

shipping and receiving function, monitors off-site customer service functions related

to the bookstore; prepares a variety of sales records and reports; and performs related

duties as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise, coordinate and assist in the daytime and evening bookstore operations,

the shipping and receiving function, and off-site customer service functions.

Develop and maintain the bookstore e-commerce web site; use site to track books

ordered, dropped or part of buy-back program; promote the use of site for

advertisement underwriting by book publishers.

Create, recommend, implement and revise a variety of policies and procedures

related to loss prevention, shipping and receiving, customer service, and general

store operations.

Recommend products and services to be offered by the bookstore; research

product availability and pricing to meet campus needs. Gather, compile, recommend and input projected cost data for annual bookstore

budget.

Receive and respond to customer inquiries and concerns; resolve disputes in

accordance with best business practices and approved procedures.

pricing and keeping the store neat, clean and organized. The Sales Clerk reports to theAssistant Store Manager or Store Manager, as designated.

Rings up all sales on cash register, properly and accurately handling money,

Performs housecleaning duties necessary to maintain store cleanliness and basic

upkeep and/or cleaning of all equipment in the store

Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits

Controls merchandise, cash shortages and other selling expenses

Providing good services to the customers

Having good knowledge of the products that are available in the shop

Receive cash after purchase from customers. Money can also be obtained through

credit cards, check, cash, automatic debits or vouchers

Calculating the total amount of money transacted for the day

Resolving the customer complains if there are any

Carry out sorting, wrapping currencies and counting

Always ensure that adequate amount of cash is available at cashier counter so that

balance can be paid to the customers easily.
