COVID-19 Support: Assistance for Severely Affected Regions The Government has set aside an initial $1 billion allocation to support those regions and communities that have been disproportionately affected by the economic impacts of the Coronavirus, including those heavily reliant on industries such as: tourism, agriculture and education. The Deputy Prime Minister will work with affected industries and communities to develop recovery plans and measures and the funding will be available for distribution through existing or new mechanisms as soon as practicable. Further info here Boosting Cash Flow for Employers The Government is now providing up to $100,000 to eligible small and medium sized businesses, and not-for-profits (including charities) that employ people, with a minimum payment of $20,000. Small and medium business entities with aggregated annual turnover under $50 million and that employ workers will be eligible. Eligibility will generally be based on prior year turnover. Not-for-profit entities (NFPs), including charities, with aggregated annual turnover under $50 million and that employ workers will now also be eligible. $10,000 - $50,000. You do not need to apply for the cash flow boost. All you must do it lodge your activity statements. The cash flow boost will be automatically credited to your account. Australian Banks will defer loan repayments for small businesses affected by COVID-19 for six months. Further info here
NSW Small Business Support Grant
The Small Business Support Grant provides small businesses and non-profits in targeted industries severely affected by COVID-19 with funding to help them survive. Up to $10,000 for businesses who are eligible and have a decline in turnover of 75% compared to the equivalent trading period in 2019. Further info here

Backing Business Investment
A time limited 15 month investment incentive to support business investment and economic growth
over the short term by accelerating depreciation deductions. This applies to assets acquired from 12
March 2020 and first used or installed by 30 June 2021. Further info here
SME Guarantee Scheme
The Coronavirus SME Guarantee Scheme will provide small and medium sized business with timely
access to working capital to help them get through the impact of the Coronavirus.
The Government will provide eligible lenders with a guarantee for loans with the following terms:
SMEs, including sole traders, with a turnover of up to $50 million. Maximum total size of loans of $250,000 per borrower. Loans will be up to three years, with an initial six month repayment holiday. Unsecured finance, meaning that borrowers will not have to provide an asset as security for the
loan.

Supporting Apprentices and Trainees Employers can begin registering to receive a 50 percent subsidy for wages to apprentices between January to March. Wage subsidies will be available to small businesses, including those using a Group Training Organisation, to help retain existing apprentices and trainees. Employers of any size who re-engage an apprentice or trainee that has been displaced from a small business may also attract a wage subsidy. The apprentice or trainee must have been in-training with a small business as at 1 March 2020.

Subsidies will cover wages paid from 1 January 2020 to 30 September 2020. Businesses will be reimbursed up to $7,000 per quarter, up to a maximum of $21,000, per eligible apprentice or trainee. Final claims for payment must be lodged by 31 December 2020. Further info here Temporary early release of superannuation The Government is allowing individuals affected by the Coronavirus to access up to $10,000 of their superannuation in 2019-20 and a further $10,000 in 2020-21. Individuals will not need to pay tax on amounts released and the money they withdraw will not affect Centrelink or Veterans’ Affairs payments. Bin Trim Rebate
Businesses with up to 400 full time equivalent employees, and facility managers and small-scale recyclers responsible for managing the waste of small to medium-sized businesses may be eligible for equipment rebates includes material processing infrastructure that diverts waste from landfill as well as recycling infrastructure.
Rebates of between $1000 and $50,000 covering up to 50% of the capital cost of recycling equipment. Further info here
Business Events Bid Fund Program
Managed by Tourism Australia’s business events unit, Business Events Australia, the Business
Events Bid Fund Program (BFP) is designed to increase the conversion of new international
business events for Australia through the offer of financial support at the critical bidding stage. The
BFP is designed to deliver conversion of new business in situations where Australia is in
consideration against international competitors for the right to host the business event.
The BFP supports expenditure on goods and services within Australia for the purposes of delivering
confirmed, qualified business events.

Building Partnership grants require startups or SMEs to have an innovative solution that addresses a market gap or opportunity and the collaboration of a consortium of partners.
The goals of the program are to enable a startup or an existing SME with a growth plan to:
expand or pivot an innovative product or solution
acquire a major customer
deliver at scale
or build access to a new market.
Up to 35% of the project costs are available to a maximum of $100,000. Further info here
Entrepreneurs’ Programme Business Management
To connect small and medium sized businesses with the capabilities and networks they need to
innovate, compete and grow in Australian markets and/or markets in other countries.
The program offers a suite of advisory and facilitation services that support:
business improvement and innovation connections in targeted Growth Sectors which could benefit from increased trading in Australian markets and markets in other countries
the development and growth of innovative globally focussed start-ups through Australia’s innovation ecosystem
the commercialisation of novel products, processes and services so that they can be sold in Australian markets and/or markets in other countries.
Reimburses Businesses for up to 50% of the cost of engaging a service provider (min $2,500 up to
a max of $20,000). To be eligible businesses must have received a completed plan from a business
advice or facilitation service.

Commercial Refrigeration Rebate
Eligible small businesses can get a NSW government rebate for new plug-in commercial fridges and
freezers. Businesses must have fewer than 50 full time employees and less than $10m annual
turnover and Good must be purchased outright or under a lease agreement. Review a list of eligible

Community Childcare Fund (CCCF) Special Circumstances Grant/Drought Support/COVID-19 Support
To support continuity of child care, in particular in disadvantaged or vulnerable communities, where a service is at risk of closure due to an unforeseen event or circumstance, such as a natural disaster, extreme weather event or pandemic (e.g. Coronavirus (COVID-19)), at risk of permanent closure due to another event or circumstance, where that closure would result in a lack of suitable child care for the community, or seeking to commence a new service in a community where another service has closed, resulting in a lack of suitable child care.

An initiative for innovative Australian start-ups and small SMEs, providing funding support and access to CSIRO’s research expertise and capabilities to help grow and develop their business.

Small businesses who have been directly affected by a declared natural disaster including floods, fires or storm damage, may be eligible for low interest loans to return to its normal level of trading or until the next major income is received within 12 months from the date of disaster or replace and repair damage caused to your small business and associated improvements not covered by insurance. To assist farming families affected by Natural Disasters (Drought, Flood, Fire) Australia wide including providing Stock feed, Financial support via Pre-paid visas and local produce vouchers from within the communities, moral support through personal face to face or phone contact and referrals to other support networks as needed.

Energy Efficient Lighting
For households and business, rebates and discounts for installing LED Lighting in the home and discounts and incentives for installing at place of business. Farming families experiencing financial hardship with assistance through planning and training for
long term financial improvements and financial support up to 4 years. The support available
includes: a fortnightly payment; supplementary allowances such as rent assistance, telephone and
pharmaceutical allowances and a Health Care Card; individual case support with a Farm Household
Case Officer (FHCO); a financial assessment of the farm enterprise worth up to $1500; a $4000
activity supplement that gives farmers an opportunity to develop skills, access training and pay for
professional advice to better manage their business into the future.
Additionally, there are one-off relief payments if the 4-year period ends before 1 July 2020. This payment is $7500 for a single farmer or $6500 for each member of a couple. Further info here
Financial Capability Open Grants
To improve financial wellbeing by assisting people to make informed and confident decisions about
their money. Proposals must do this by satisfying at least one of: Building organisational capacity to

Provides Australian incubators that provide services to start-ups to help them achieve commercial
success in international markets.
$5,000 to $100,000 of matched project funding for up to 1 year. Further info here
Linkage Program Schemes
Promotes national and international research partnerships between researchers and business,
industry, community organisations and other publicly funded research agencies. Funding may be
used for: personnel, teaching relief; access to research and infrastructure facilities and technical
workshop services; essential field research; expert third party services; equipment and
consumables; publication and dissemination of outputs and outreach; specialised computer
equipment and software; travel costs essential to the project; web hosting and development;

Minimum Viable Product Grant
Available to all industries to support pre-revenue start up to progress from proof of concept to a
stage of development.
The grants are aimed at startups that are yet to generate revenue to help them engage with a
potential business customer, or channel to market, and create innovative solutions that address
compelling industry needs or market gaps.
Matched revenue of up to 50% of approved project costs to a maximum of $25,000.

Natural Disaster Transport Subsidy A natural disaster assistance transport subsidy is available to eligible farmers who are affected by a declared natural disaster event. This subsidy pays for the cost of transporting: fodder and/or water to an affected property; stock to sale or slaughter; stock to/from agistment. Regional Skills Relocation Grant Grants will be available for businesses operating in NSW regional eligible industries. The funding is available to assist with the relocation costs of eligible skilled workers they employ that move from metropolitan areas to regional NSW. Tailored Assistance Employment Grants Tailored Assistance Employment Grants connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with real and sustainable jobs. There are three streams of funding:-
Employment – support for job seekers to address barriers to recruitment and improve retention in the workplace, and support for employers to engage and retain job seekers into ongoing jobs, including post-placement support
School-based traineeships – support for secondary students to gain work experience and prepare for post-school transition into further study or employment
Cadetships – support for university students to receive paid work-placement opportunities during the course of their study.

TechVouchers Program Encourages research collaboration between NSW small and medium enterprises and Boosting Business Innovation Program delivery partners. Must be matched in cash, facilitate expenditure on R&D and promote collaboration. Priority is given to companies that: have not engaged with universities or other public sector research organisations in the past; have not been working with research organisations for more than two years; have an existing relationship with a research organisation and can demonstrate that receiving a TechVoucher will result in transformative improvement in the existing collaboration.

Support for NDIS providers This grants program is managed by the NDIS Commission and funds the development and delivery of tools and resources that will be available to all NDIS providers. These large-scale projects will focus on supporting providers to meet their responsibilities to provide safe and quality services to NDIS participants. The initial focus of the Program is to fund targeted initiatives that support providers transitioning to the new arrangements and to address specific areas of the new provider obligations. Further info here Business Improvement Fund for Residential Aged Care The Business Improvement Fund for Residential Aged Care will provide targeted support to eligible providers of residential aged care experiencing financial difficulty, prioritising providers in regional, rural, and remote areas, and small to medium sized providers, with limited access to financial support, that are facing significant financial pressure. The Fund will provide financial support to providers through three streams of grant funding which include:
Supporting a provider to go through a process of business improvement
Supporting the sale of the residential aged care facility to another provider
Where no options exist, supporting the orderly and safe close down of a residential facility
Resilient Australia Awards The Resilient Australia Awards is a nation-wide program to recognise and promote initiatives that strengthen community disaster resilience. Since 2000, the awards have showcased innovation and exemplary practice across Australia; celebrating achievements that might otherwise go unseen, and inspiring others to build greater disaster resilience in their own communities. Further info here Energy Efficient Communities Program - Community Energy Efficiency and Solar Grants 2020 To support community organisations across Australia to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; improve energy efficient practices; increase the uptake of energy efficient technologies.

Industry Development Program The Industry Development Program provides funds to organisations that create professional development opportunities for NSW screen practitioners at various stages of their career.
Funding is provided for one-off or annual events including workshops, masterclasses, forums and professional development activities.
Events and programs that stimulate screen content and innovative practice in NSW and supports high-quality activity, engagement and participation with one or more of the following Priority Areas are of particular importance such as people living and/or working in regional NSW.

Publishers and content service providers can apply for a grant of up to $400,000 to help stabilise their financial position and increase their revenue, so that they can operate on a sustainable basis in the medium term.

Community War Memorials Fund To help conserve, repair and protect war memorials across NSW. Since the establishment of the program in 2008, grants have been provided for a wide range of projects including conservation assessments, honour roll repair, war memorial cleaning and conservation work, arborist advice for war memorial trees, security measures for memorials, repairs to war memorial halls and improvements to the accessibility of memorials. Further info here Farm Innovation Fund The Farm Innovation Fund is part of the NSW Government's Drought Strategy and is a long term, low interest rate loan for NSW farmers for permanent on-farm infrastructure. The Farm Innovation Fund helps farmers to:
improve farm productivity - reduce risks and improve efficiencies by building fodder and grain storage facilities, sheds, fencing, roadworks and solar power conversions.
manage adverse seasonal conditions - improve water efficiencies with irrigation systems, cap and piping of bores, new dams, install water tanks and desilting of ground tanks.

Fight Food Waste SME Solutions Centre This program provides access to funding, skills and expertise to find the best food waste solutions for SMEs to assist in their efficiency and sustainability. The aim of the Fight Food Waste SME Solutions Centre is to provide dollar-for-dollar support to successful applicants to use researchers in the Fight Food Waste CRC to conduct short-term research that will find a solution to their agri-food waste problems. The Fight Food Waste SME Solutions Centre will:
test new and novel food processing, packaging and agricultural technologies to REDUCE food and agricultural waste
identify valuable products in food and agricultural waste streams and TRANSFORM into new commercial opportunities
ENGAGE experts from the Fight Food Waste CRC industry and research participants to identify technology opportunities and processes to enhance food and agricultural waste reduction.
