    JOB DESCRIPTION

    POSITION: Business Development Specialist_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    FUNCTION and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The primary responsibilities of the Business Development are to:

    80% Assist in providing one-on-one counseling and offer Hispanic entrepreneurs a wide range of

    assistance including:

    Provide weekly orientations in Spanish on how to open a business; Perform initial counseling on how to start a business; Conducting initial needs assessment to determine business strengths and weaknesses; Analyzing customers business needs and formulating solutions; Assist with customers development and their relations with contracted professional

    providers;

    Assist with business and marketing plan development; and Orienting customers to other community resources.

    15% Assist Business Development and Education Specialist organize educational opportunities forHispanic entrepreneurs throughout the year

    Reserve venue; Set up training room with needed materials and instruments for the speaker; and Evaluate speakers at the end of each seminar.

    5% Conduct special projects and miscellaneous programs as assigned by the Vice-President.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

    Ability to give presentations to small audiences; Ability to research, communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English

    and Spanish;

    Demonstrate basic knowledge of different industries and how they work; Demonstrated knowledge of different licenses and permits needed when opening their

    company in Central Florida;

    Demonstrated ability to learn tasks readily; Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in making decisions in accordance with

    organizational policies and procedures;

    Ability to work well with limited supervision; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to work well with others; Computer literate;

    Time management skills that would enable the successful scheduling and accomplishing ofmany concurrent demands;

    Professional manner, voice and appearance; and Agreement to support HBIF policies and procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduation from an accredited College or University with a bachelors degree in business orpublic administration, finance, marketing, or a related field;

    One to three years relevant and progressively responsible work experience; Reliable transportation and valid drivers license with good driving record required. Direct

    access by phone required; and

    Must successfully pass a criminal background check. Credit check may also be required.
