STORY AND PHOTOS BY DAN HUST

Inspiration was served in heapinghelpings Sunday alongside thehors doeuvres and entrees at theEagles Nest in Bloomingburg.

While the meal satisfied hunger fora day at most, the accomplishmentsand impacts of the three womenhonored that day continue to flowthroughout the minds and hearts ofhundreds, likely thousands, of peo-ple.

I came across a magnet ... thatfeatured these words, relatedBethel resident and past New YorkState Women, Inc. President PatHendrickson, who opened the 35thannual Professional Women of Sulli-van County awards dinner.

There are women who makethings better simply by showingup. There are women who makethings happen. There are womenwho make their way. There arewomen who make a difference. Andwomen who make us smile.

There are women of wit and wis-

dom who through strength andcourage make it through. There arewomen who change the world everyday women like you.

She was speaking particularly ofDanielle Gaebel, Jennifer Bitetto andAnna Milucky, three locals who areactively changing the world.

Gaebel and Bitetto received theAssociations Women of the YearAward for their founding and devel-opment of NaturalContents.comand Natural Contents Kitchen.

Friend and customer DeniseFrangipane called the personal andprofessional duo radical homemak-

    ers.They are using an entrepreneurial

spirit to get us back to basics, she

    explained.

The couple created NaturalContents after suffering through diet-related health problems, transformingtheir approach to healthy eating andmaking a successful business out of italong the way.

I was humbled by their courage ...to pursue their passion, saidFrangipane. How lucky for me and so many others that they did!

Since the beginning of our relation-ship, food has played a major role,Gaebel said, recalling how a conven-tional diet contributed to her ongo-ing gall bladder attacks.

Weve gone from fast to fresh food, she related.

The gall bladder attacks disap-peared, and she and Bitetto have lost acombined 80 pounds.

Theyve built upon that success, cre-ating an educational website that notonly dispenses advice but food itself. They prepare healthy, delicious dishesusing local growers and providers, then deliver those meals to customers.

Gaebel is also the manager andBitetto the market assistant for theSullivan County Farmers MarketAssociation, which brings fresh foodto customers all over the county.

Milucky earned the AssociationsCommunity Service Award fitting, since as Congressman Chris Gibsonobserved, the list of her communityservice efforts is tiring!

She is zealous in pursuit of the goalsand objectives of any organization towhich she belongs, affirmed long-time fiance Dan Briggs. ... She strivesto be a valuable and contributingmember.

And thats not just with Jeff Bank, where shes a vice president. Miluckyis a member of the ThompsonPlanning Board, ForestburghPlayhouse Board, SullivanArcExecutive Board, Literacy Volunteersof America, Sullivan County YMCAAdvisory Board, BOCES AuditCommittee, and Orange CountyChamber Business Committee, among others.

Shes also a dedicated family personand recognized every relative whocame, including her mother.

I cherish each and every one ofyou, Milucky acknowledged. I amtruly blessed to have such friends, family and colleagues.

In a brief speech, she thanked every-one for the award and took time topromote her twin loves of SullivanArc and Literacy Volunteers, both ofwhich aid segments of the populationwho might otherwise be neglectedand forgotten.

Milucky, Bitetto and Gaebel wereeach given standing ovations andlocal, state and federal certificates ofrecognition for going above andbeyond.

As Legislator Cora Edwardsobserved (modifying a DunkinDonuts tagline), Sullivan County runson community service.

And the trio honored Sunday addednew fuel to that fire a blaze of ambi-tion the Professional Women ofSullivan County is always trying to fan.

Each of us has a responsibility tomake our community better, affirmed Association PresidentAdrianna Mayson Greco. ... Its myhope that this celebration serves as aninspiration for each of you.

Age: 35.Place of employment: Edible Art by

    ErinCurrent title and duties: Owner...

aka Boss Cupcake... chief cook &bottle washer? Im a one lady CakeBakery.. I do it all from grocery shop-ping and scrubbing dishes andcounter tops to deliveries, VendorEvents, Baking, decorating, planning- normally called soup to nuts butin my case its Crumbs to cakes?

Years in business: 112. I learned thebasics of cake decorating in Octoberof 2011 through Sullivan CountyBoces Adult Ed class. LindaManzolillo of Cakes by Linda, aretiree in the industry, was myinstructor

Favorite part of your job: Theabsolute best part of my job is thereaction when a Cuppie (client) firstsees their cake and then later on Imost generally receive a message (orphoto) of how great the cakes/cup-cakes tasted.

Most challenging part of your job:My biggest challenge is time con-straints. This is a fresh product that Iproduce nothing is ever frozen ormade ahead. Juggling my role asMom and Business Owner is noeasy task, especially of children attheir age, and the fact that my busi-ness is in its Toddler stage as well. Both need constant attention aroundthe clock.

Favorite-on-the job moment, cus-tomer or memory: I actually havethree in such a short period of time:

The first was the pick up of one of

my first orders of aHello Kitty-themed cus-tom cake for a wonder-ful family in LivingstonManor. I was beyondnervous. The mom ofthe birthday girl was sopleased, it brought tearsto her eyes (whichmade me cry Im sucha mush) and she gaveme a huge hug! Thebirthday girl, wasthrilled to pieces whenshe saw her cake! Theyhave been a RegularCuppie from Day One.Im truly thankful forfamilies like theirs!

The second was thispast summer - a Sweet16 cake, BlazeOrange/camoflage/4H-themed that was deliv-ered to the Lew BeachFirehouse. As I poppedthe back of my deliverycar open (another)mom, gasped and held her hands toher face and bursts into tears andgave me big hugs. Did I mention Ilove my job?

And the third was this past summer.I was selected from Icing Smiles,Inc., a not-for-profit organizationthat provides custom celebrationcakes and other treats to familiesimpacted by the critical illness of achild. Simple things, like a cake, areluxuries to a family battling illness.Their goal is to create a custom cakefor the ill child, or their sibling, thatprovides a temporary escape from

worry and creates a positive memoryduring a difficult time. This is where Icome in to play. I was a volunteerbaker, and am now a Sugar Angel. Icreated a custom birthday cake for alovely young girl whose sisters are ill.Doing something for someone with-out expecting/hoping/asking foranything in return is truly the mostrewarding experience ever. Im alsothankful to my friend Jasmine atIshot Studios for capturing this pre-cious moment on film for me.Something I will cherish always. Ilove my job!

    Education: LivingstonManor Central School1996 graduate

Professional certifica-tions: Many NYSInsurance Licenses andCertifications in bothProperty & Casualty aswell as Life and Health(15 years of being in theIndustry and a hungerfor knowledge will dothat to you!) all still cur-rent should I decided toever enter back into theInsurance World.

Favorite movie: As achild my favorite moviewas The Dark Crystal,as an adult, MonstersInc.

How do you spendyour spare time: Whatspare time? Im a momto a 4- and 5-year-old, aswell as a businessowner. If there was amoment of free time it

might be a five-minute shower!Favorite vacation spot: St Thomas,

US Virgin IslandsFamily: Daughter Evelyn (age 5)

son Patrick (age 4), husband Scott(also known as Resident Taste Tester).

Civic or volunteer affiliations: Iguess technically Im not a volun-teer in anything right now, however,I and or my cake shop donate to sev-eral communities and organizationsin the county.
