Dr. Bushra Binte Alam is a Senior Health Specialist for the World Bank in Bangladesh currently managing the health sector programs. Dr. Alam received her medical degree, completed post-graduate work in virology, and earned a Master of Philosophy degree in Preventative and Social Medicine at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She co-designed the UN Maternal Newborn Health Program currently being implemented in Bangladesh, and she also led the design of the Joint-UN Maternal and Neonatal Health Program “Saving the Lives of the Mothers and Newborn” in the Philippines. Dr. Alam has worked for the Government of Bangladesh for over 15 years and has more than 25 years of experience working in the health sector.
