Bus Shelters

Queensbury’s most popular shelter, the Arun, has become the first choice for users who require a classic, practical shelter of sturdy construction.

The Arun is a versatile shelter available in a wide variety of configurations, resulting in the shelter being able to blend into the most sensitive of locations, both rural and urban. The Arun bus shelter looks at home in villages, historic towns and major cities – a small shelter can suit a village green location, or a 50 metre shelter can be configured to suit a town centre bus interchange.

A steel, vandal resistant frame gives this shelter its strength and durability, which far out performs shelters manufactured from other materials. The roof is available in two shapes and Queensbury’s own side glazing system is secure and unobtrusive, yet easily accessible for maintenance. The glazing system can accept a variety of materials from toughened glass to solid painted aluminium panels.

SIZE

The standard Arun shelter is available in two pitch sizes of 1000mm and 1290mm and five different widths.

Designed for use in architecturally sensitive environments, the Chester shelter from Queensbury combines period style elegance, whilst utilising the latest materials and production techniques.

This passenger shelter is available in both enclosed and cantilever configurations with end panels.

A framework of zinc protected steel is used with extruded aluminium roof members. The solid lower panels are manufactured from GRP and the shelter also incorporates decorative fabricated steel features. Roof drainage occurs via corner posts.

SIZE

The Chester shelter is available in two lengths, 2760mm for the 2 bay, and 4000mm for the 3 bay as standard. Roof width is 1500mm.

The Ely incorporates many of the features found throughout the Queensbury ranges, including a safety mid-rail, making it an attractive, high quality vandal resistant shelter with a very clean and contemporary design.

The Ely is designed around a steel frame, which can also be manufactured from stainless steel for a more premium look. The steel sandwich roof is edged with an aluminium extrusion for added strength. Queensbury’s own side glazing system is utilised which is secure and unobtrusive, yet easily accessible for maintenance. The glazing system can accept a variety of materials from toughened glass to solid painted galvanised panels

Configurations for the bus shelter include both cantilever and enclosed designs for improved protection from the elements.

The standard Ely bus shelter is available in 1290mm pitch bays, with a roof width of 1375mm.

The Forest range combines modular construction techniques, with traditional joinery skills, to produce a family of sturdy, high quality and attractive wooden passenger shelters.

Manufactured in association with Rushetts Joinery of Kent, using timber from sustainable sources, the shelter framework is constructed from Glulam pressure treated European whitewood, which is remarkably strong and will not twist or warp. Infill panels, of birch ply, are crafted to give a tongue and grooved effect, or can be glazed in toughened glass or polycarbonate.

There are three distinct roof designs featured in this range of shelters from Queensbury:

The G2 is a dynamic, modern shelter which was designed with light, space and comfort as the key factors.

The shelter range can be used as a standard cantilever roadside shelter, through to enclosed waiting areas and large bespoke bus interchanges.

Designed with a robust, formed tubular frame, the G2 passenger shelter has a distinct personality. The curved clear roof and large format, single point glazed side panels provide a very light and spacious environment. The roof design features an integrated water management system and also integrated lighting and specific cabling routes ease of installation and maintenance. RTPI and CCTV can be easily incorporated into the shelter.

The shelter can have either straight or formed posts and there are two different roof end options for the 2000mm and 2500mm wide shelters - a standard roof hoop design or GRP moulded panel.

Manifestations are screen printed onto the glass with the single colour dot or lozenge design included as standard. Price on application for bespoke designs.

A stainless steel version of this shelter is also available.

The Meridian is Queensbury’s most advanced shelter designed to date with improved versatility and functionality built in.

This range of shelter can be used in diverse applications, from standard roadside shelters to large, bespoke ‘Park and Ride’ shelters. Smaller versions of the shelter can also be utilised as car park kiosks.

Based around a steel, vandal resistant frame, the standard low barrel vaulted roof features an integrated water management system with internal gutters. The roof has also been designed to integrate cabling for lighting and technology including CCTV and RTPI displays. The side glazing system features a mid rail that is secure and unobtrusive, yet easily accessible for maintenance. The glazing system can accept a variety of materials from toughened glass to solid painted aluminium panels.

The Meridian can also be manufactured from stainless steel for a more premium look.

A flat roof version of the Meridian shelter is also available.

SIZE

The standard Meridian shelter is available in 1300mm pitch bays, at a roof width of 1470mm. The Flat roof version has 1270mm pitch bays and a roof width of 1595mm.

The stylish Promenade shelter combines modern design with functionality. The elegant roof shape and option of large format glazing panels makes it suitable for both historic and more modern locations

With two side glazing options and two different roof material options the Promenade shelter can be adapted to suit all environments. The shelter is based around a tubular steel frame with a curved panel style roof. There are two options for the side glazing:

Option 1: Full height. Single point glazed panels with screen printed manifestations and circular stainless steel fixings. Single colour dot or lozenge manifestations are included as standard, price on application for bespoke designs.

Option 2: Mid Rail. Glazed panels which are held in an aluminium glazing system and divided by a mid rail.

Optional lighting is provided by an LED fitting housed in an aluminium extruded frame.

A stainless steel version of this shelter is also available

The Winchester is a cost effective and practical shelter that has a straightforward and minimal style.

Shelters are available in both cantilever and enclosed designs, in 2 or 3 bay formats.

The Winchester has a steel frame with a moulded GRP flat roof, reinforced with steel supports. An extruded aluminium glazing system accepts either glass or polycarbonate panels, and also includes an integrated ‘Zintec’ kick panel design for low level durability.

SIZE

Standard pitch sizes are 1310/1320mm for the 2 bay and 1120/1130mm for the 3 bay. Both options have a width of 1365mm.
