ttThe erection of a monument or sta tue to the memory of Plenty Coos, no doubt, is desirable and would receive wholebBrted sanct i on except for the fact that the many needs to be financed from he Federal Government especially that of relief, seem of greater merit • . In view of the vast sums that have been a sked for from the Government to relieve such needs, it is not believed the present is a suitable time to incur the expenses of carrying out the proposal embodied in the bill under consideration.

"In view of the foregoing, I recommend that s. 2320 be not enacted."

The situation has not changed since then and I doubt very much that we could get sucha bill through now.
