Burhani Glass Factory (BGF) was founded since the early year of 2004 in the

Emirates of Dubai, United Arab Emirates to serve the growing demand

for Architectural Glasses. Having installed the latest equipments to test

Distortion, Fragmentation, Surface Compression Stress and Bow Tolerances,

Burhani Glass conforms to American Standard ASTM 1048 and ANZI Z-97.1 as

well as European Standard EN 12150, EN 1279, EN 1063 and EN12600 which

fulfills the requirement for Conformité Européenne (CE) Marking and Declaration

of Conformity.

Production Process

Source of Raw Materials:Glass Raw Materials are supplied by well known Glass Manufacturing companies from America and Europe. Among these suppliers are Pilkington, Guardian, Euro-glass, St. Gobain, Arcon and Asahi Glass.

The glass cases are unloaded using the 5.5 Overhead Kone Crane and are safely placed on the A Frames located in the glass Ware-housing Section.

CNC-Glass Cutting ProcessThe Process formally begins after the Sales Order and Optimization disc containing de-tailed instructions are released by the Esti-mation/Marketing Department to the Pro-duction Department.

Upon receipt of the Sales Order and Opti-mization Disc, the Production Department delegates the Job Order to a particular Section.

With the Overhead Crane, The glass is loaded on the CNC cutting line table which then freely and slowly pushes the glass to the Lisec Cutting Ma-chine for automatic cutting of the glass.

The Operator sets the mode of operation on the CNC Cutting Machine either manually or auto-matically. The operator retrieves and optimizes the program according to the sizes required con-sidering minimal glass wastage. Once cutting is done, the glass is transferred to the breaking table for the breakout operation us-ing the pneumatic push.

Glass Tempering ProcessFrom Cutting, the glass is transferred to the Arising/Polishing Section where sharp edges are arised. The glass is washed in the Washing Ma-chine and then loaded in the Loading Station of the Tempering Machine. The furnace is heated at 700C with appropriate timing based on the type and thickness of the glass. The glass then pro-ceeds in the Furnace for Tempering.

Glass Insulation ProcessInsulated glass (in pair) is assembled in the machine loading area. The paired glasses pass through the Vertical Washing Machine where-by quality is being checked prior to matching.

After the quality has been checked and ap-proved, the aluminium spacer is assembled onto the unit. The aluminium spacer is placed in between two glasses and the unit passes through the pressing process.

To seal the double glass, Tremco Silicon 562 or Polyurethane or equivalent quality is carefully applied in its four sides by the LISEC Robotic Sealer machine.

The insulated glasses can also be sealed with silicon or polyurethane back-up pumps.

Bur-IG is either processed with aluminium spacer, modified shuco spacer of shuco alu-minium spacer according to the requirement of the client. The glass is stored for eight hours for curing or drying prior to delivery.

Flat Lamination ProcessIf the glass requires lamination process, it is loaded to the Loading station and is trans-ferred to the Washing Machine for Cleaning using treated water from Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) Plant.

Once the glass has been washed, using the Over head Crane with Automatic Lifters the first glass is lifted thereafter, the PVB is au-tomatically applied to the surface of the glass, after which the second glass is lifted glass and placed for accurate pairing applying PVB interlayer in between.

PVB film is cut and trimmed according to the size of the glass and the unit is transferred to the heating Furnace.

The glass batches of pre-laminated glass are fed / placed into the Autoclave cycle for final de-airing process. Glass processing in Auto Clave is a five hour – cycle for pressurized heating, cooling and re-pressurizing process.

Production Process

Glass Ceramic Fritting Process is as follows:• Washed glass is loaded to the loading station.

• As per Client approval, the Glass is positioned to the Printing Machine (Keraglass) in which appropriate parameter is applied by the op-erator, for Silkscreen Printed design.

• The paint is poured to the silkscreen frame which is the n applied by squeegee, signal-ing the start of the production.

• Once the printing is finished the glass is transferred automatically to the heating chamber for the drying process. The glass is then transported to the Tempering Machine for the final curing of paint.

• The Ceramic Fritted glasses can also be laminated or double glazed if required.

PACKING and DELIVERY

After tempering quality has been checked and ensured, the glass units proceed to Dou-ble Glazing, Laminating, and Ceramic Print-ing Sections or directly for Packing and De-livery in cases of single tempered glass.

Each glass is ensured to have no damage or scratches and has passed Quality Control checking before sending to Packing Division.

The glasses are covered with plastics and placed in wooden cases. These cases are finally sealed and tied with steel belt straps and are made ready for Delivery.

Delivery is done through BGF vehicles that have been specially modified for carrying glasses.

Bur-Tuff ™- Toughened GlassTempered glass is often called Toughened Glass which is four to five times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness. This type of glass typically breaks into small pieces with dull edges avoiding injuries. The product complies with EN 12150 std. and ANSI Z-97.1, 1984 Standard. However Tempered Glass is also mandated in other parts of the world by individual country regulations specifications.

BUR-TUFF™ has a surface stress of 70 to 122 Mpa which complies with international Standards. It is manufactured by heating up the flat glass to a temperature of around 700deg. Centigrade and blowing the air onto its surface, quenching it down swiftly and uniformly. It features high degree of strength and decreases the possibility of breakage. It has excellent thermal resistance permitting it to last under a rapid temperature change of 200 deg. Centigrade. It has the same level of transparency compared with flat glass even after heat treatment process.

Applications:Entrance doors in buildings, windows for vehicles, ships, interior fixtures, balustrade, extreme wind loads, fireplace enclosures, suitable where safety glass is required.

Bur-HS™ - Heat Strengthened GlassBur HS is approximately twice as strong as annealed glass of equal thickness. It has higher resistance to thermal loads than annealed glass and typically breaks into large pieces.

Applications:Suitable in use of spandrel and or vision areas where added resistance to wind-load and thermal stress is required, laminated solariums, highwind loads areas, laminated skylights.

Bur- IG ™- Double Glazed GlassBur- IG™ is a double glass pane, with aluminium spacers placed between two panes and the entire unit is hermetically sealed with polysulfide, polyurethane, or silicon sealant according to the structural requirement of glazing.The Product offers design flexibility in colors, light transmittance, solar reflection, energy efficiency and considerable energy cost reductions compared to ordinary glasses.

Bur-Frit™ - Ceramic Frit Paint Glass

Bur-Frit™ is produced using the most sophisti-cated printing machine from Kera Glass, Italy. The machine applies ceramic paint on glass surface, which is dried into the glass surface going to infra red processing. The glass is then heated into the furnace. Bur-Frit™ can be either Heat Strengthened or Fully Tempered glasses according to the designed specification.

Bur-Frit™ is an ideal glass processed for non-vision spandrel areas in typical curtained wall applications. It is available as monolithic (single glass position 2), insulated double glass (surface position 4) or multiple glasses for lamination or bullet resistant glass application. The surface covered can be 100% when an overall specifica-tion is required or it can take form from infinite variety of decorated patterns. Such as the one displayed here:

The accuracy of our state-of-the-art silk-screening equipments also allows for dou-ble painting with the same glass surface, using different colors without any pattern overlap. Hence, Bur-Frit™ can show a different color on each surface while retaining complete silkscreen accuracy.

Bur-Frit™ silk screen high performance allows designers to create a large facade pat-tern which can run through the entire double-glazed-vision, or single-glazed-spandrel areas without loss or change in color uniformity.

Bur-HSK™-Heat Soak Test

Bur-HSK™ consists of performing superior Qual-ity Test to avoid spontaneous breakage of tempered glass. This method reduces the incidence of NiS in-duced failure in tempered glass by causing the phase change to occur before glass panel is installed into the building. Bur-HSK™ is procesed in our Heat Soak Test Kilns (HST) manufactured by Pujol, Spain. Bur-HSK™ offers extra security in application for struc-tural glass and avoids cost for replacement of broken glasses in high attitude buildings exceeding tenth floor or more as well as in total glass enclosures.

Heat Soak Test ProcedureTesting is directed on glasses that would pose a danger in the event of breakage of façade, roof and balcony glazing. Heat soak testing investigates glass which is sensitive to breakage. The nickel sulfide (NiS) crystals might cause the glass to break, although this is improbable.Testing: Treatment time 12 h, temperature during testing 290 +/- 10º.

Injury due to falling glassAn occupant or passer-by can be seriously injured by falling fragments. When a panel of toughened glass breaks spontaneously it produces a loud noise which can be heard from a significant distance.The reaction of people when hearing a noise above them is to look up, and this may result in fragments of glass striking a person in the face, or getting into the eyes. Bur-HSK prevents such incidents from occurring as glasses are tested prior to installation.

Bur-Lam™• Laminated Safety Glass• Acoustic GlassBur-Lam™ contains one or more sheets of flexible, tough and transparent polyvinyl bu-tyral film laminated between two or multiple sheets of flat glass. It is both extra-safe and shatter resistant. The polyvinyl used in Bur-Lam™, is perfectly clear and free of any dis-coloration. More over it is also highly resistant to moisture and heat. The polyvinyl butyral film will not blister or in any way detract from the perfect clarity of glass sheets. All these outstanding features make

Bur-Lam™ the ideal product whenever safety glass or a safety glazing material is required. Bur-Lam™ complies with the American (ANSI) and European (EN) Standard. Bur-Lam™ glass provide strength, beauty and durability. It is made by bonding two or more layers of glass, using heat and pressure, with one or more “interlayers” of PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) film or EVA film.

The result is a tough, adaptable glazing material that offers outstanding features and de-sign needs. Bur-Lam™ glass can be made using sheets of annealed, tempered, chemically or heat strengthened glass. It is easy to replace, work with and offers important structural performance features and benefits, such us those mentioned below.

Features:-Safety : Laminated glass with PVB interlayer resists penetration from impact. When bro-ken, the glass adheres to the resilient plastic interlayer unlike ordinary glass which may create dangerous shards. Sound Control : Laminated glass significantly reduces noise transmission. The viscoelastic properties of the interlayer provide a damping effect on unwanted noise.Energy Control : The use of laminated glass with a tinted interlayer reduces the heat gain from sunlight and helps reduce energy costs.

UV Control : The PVB interlayer filters out UV rays which damage draperies, art and inte-riorfurnishings.

Weather/Disaster Control : If broken in natural or manmade disaster, laminated glass will remain in its frame much longer hence averting damage to building interiors.

Security : Laminated security glass with PVB interlayer helps from intrusion burglary, bul-let penetration and explosions without compromising light transmission and visibility.

Bur-Resistant™ relates to glasses that are resistant against the firing of specified weapons and ammuni-tion, preventing the passage of bullets or parts of bullets through the glass into the protected side. It also protects personnel against injury fromsplinters of glass.

Bur-Resistant™ glass is obtained by bonding several lay-ers of the glass with Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB). The Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) in this case is more of soft glue which ab-sorbs most of the energy from the bulk of the glass which will stop the bullet from penetrating. The more layers and thickness, the greater the strength of the glass all over.

Armoured Glass

Armored glasses for vehicles basically are a laminated combination of glass, polycarbonate and plastic interlayer that accomplish protection against high levels of assault. The first main person to believe about it was our father, Antonio Guidotti, who has been the founder of an history punctuated by dates and achievements: Lavaal born on 1972, the first workshop were located in Giulianova, province of Teramo.; on 1979 he produced the first Ital-ian Cremone bolt, with spring block at 90° and the first company in Italy, to introduce the inner mechanisms with zinc alloy material made for Lever handles and cremone bolts, replacing the traditional mechanisms of steel; on 1980 Lavaal began the production of accessories suitableon the European groove sections; on 1985 Lavaal made his first patent for a tilt and turn mecha-nism and he becomes the first Italian company to produce and distribute the first tilt and turn suitable on the European Chamber, with a special external rod able to eliminate the drillings workings. In the following years Lavaal moved to new facilities and participates in national and international exhibitions, opening markets around the world. 2006, the inauguration of the new plant with modern machinery and technology.

The rest is a simple Italian history from this Italy that many would find again and that we have never lost.

The SESAMO Company emerged in Casale Monferrato, Italy, in 1965 with the intention of producing automatisms for doors, win-dows and shutters. La SESAMO nasce nel 1965 a Casale Monferrato (AL) con l’intento di produrre automatismi per serramenti. Fin dagli anni settanta scopre la sua vocazione per gli automatismi per porte scorrevoli: una connotazione che le attribuirà una precisa realtà aziendale, tecnologica e di prodotto nell’arco dei successivi trent’anni.Slancio innovativo e creatività la proiettano rapidamente oltre i propri confini naturali di Piemonte e Lombardia conferendole la cittadinanza internazionale. Agli inizi degli anni ottanta, SESAMO trasferisce la propria attività nell’attuale stabilimento sito a Terruggia Monferrato, al centro del noto triangolo industriale determinato da Genova, Milano e Torino. Il nuovo volto industriale si traduce in una vasta rete distributiva presente in tutta Italia, Europa e resto del mondo. Generalmente inserito in serra-menti automatici di alto prestigio, CIRCO MILLENNIUM è progettato per dare la massima affidabilità di funzionamento anche in presenza di un servizio continuo, come può accadere in aeroporti, ospedali, centri commerciali, stazioni ferroviarie, edifici pubblici. Abbinando all’ automatismo CIRCO MILLENNIUM la serie di PROFILI SESAMO SMALL per la realizzazione di ante fisse e scorrevoli si ottiene come risultato finale l’ingresso pedonale automatico realizzato secondo le direttive europee sulla sicurezza per le porte automatiche.

CIRCO MILLENNIUM is the SESAMO automatism used for the realization of circular-shaped automatic entrances. CIRCO MILLENNIUM is designed to give the maximum reliability of operation even under continuous service, as it can occur in airports, hospitals, commercial centres, railway stations, public buildings. Pairing the CIRCO MILLENNIUM automatism with the series of SESAMO SMALL PROFILES for the realization of fixed and sliding wings, one obtains as a final result an automatic pedestrian entrance realized in compliance with the European safety directives for automatic doors. Development, testing and production of this automatism are performed, as for all the SESAMO products, according to the standards required by the international regulation ISO 9001.

It is the sole responsibility of the processor to adequately inspect the heat treatable coated glass before each step of fabrication and prior to installation. Failure to apply all professional standards, customary instructions and processing instructions (available on www.agc-flatglass.com) will automatically void any warranty regarding heat treatable glass of AGC. The processor has the full responsibility for the quality of the final product. The validity is till 31st Dec 2013.
