girls are the root of all evil and they created bullying.

• What did you do to narrow/broaden your topic?

•I did extensive pre searching I looked through a lot of library catalogs and databases.

Boys bully physically, girls bully psychologicallyWhat is your argument? How did you answer your research

question?

• My argument is that boys bullying in a more physical and animalistic way trying to be the alpha male. Girls try to be the alpha female also but they do it through mental and psychological control or bullying.

• I answered my research question by finding information in books articles and websites.

My Research• The Article: Patterns of Adolescent Bullying &

Behaviors, back up my argument by giving statistics on Verbal bullies which were led by Girls.

• The book: Gender and Education, also back up my position on the attitudes of males and females wanting to be the alpha Dog or Cat

People feel more secure cyberbullying than they do traditional bullying•Cyberbullying is very similar to bullying

“The psychological effects of bullying”

(Answer: How did you decide on that question (what did you do to narrow/broaden your topic?))

• I believe that this question was important in order to understand the psychological problems that come from bullying even after the bullying has stopped. Also to show the different problems that affect the victim’s life during the bullying process either at work, school, or everyday life. I was able to narrow the question from effects of bullying to psychological effects of bullying as I believe this would be a more interesting topic as these effects can be long lasting and can go unnoticed if a cause such as bullying is unknown and not addressed correctly. I was able to broaden the topic to include bullying not only in school, but at work and at home as well.

By revealing the psychological effects of bullying, the public can see the value of bullying prevention.

(What is your argument? (How did you answer your research question?))

• My position is to bring awareness and explain the psychological effects of bullying in order to allow others to see problems that can come from it. I also wanted to show that bullying not only happens at school, but at the workplace later on in life and at home. To bring awareness to it’s problems and how serious they can be in hopes of more people taking action and working on solutions on reducing bullying in all aspects of life. Bullying can also take more subtle forms in which the effects aren’t as apparent even to the victim(s) but can also have long-lasting effects such as joking.

ResearchHow do the books, articles and website (discuss as least one of each, so at least three resources) you found back up your position?

• Book - Failing Grades: This book speaks mainly on the effects of bullying on a victim’s school success and therefore their future success.

• Website - www.bullyonline.org: A detailed website with much information on bullying overall and it’s many psychological effects on the individual.

• Article - Wolke D, Woods S, Bloomfield L, et al. Bullying involvement in primary school and common health problems. Arch Dis Child. 2001;85:197–201

Evaluation ProcessHow did you decide that the three sources you discussed were credible and relevant to your project?

• All of the resources I choose were relevant to the position that was proposed more so then other’s that dealt with bullying and listed it’s psychological effects and problems associated with it.

• I also looked to sources of authority such as www.bullyonline.org which as an information source is ranked highly over other website sources.

• The author’s credibility was also important with many having PHD’s and/or serving high positions in organizations dealing with the topic.
