SPECIAL NOTICEBRISBANE TRUCK SHOW 2021

Meritor Australia was pleased to exhibit at the 2021 Brisbane Truck show; the largest indoor exhibition in Australia since the COVID-19 pandemic brought the nation to a standstill.

Despite enduring restrictions on international travel and uncertainties in the community caused by recent outbreaks of the virus, the 4 day show had over 30,000 visitors. With local truck and trailer sales continuing to remain strong throughout the pandemic, it was also a great opportunity for Meritor Australia to present a number of new products being launched into the Australian market this year. These included the MTA integrated trailer suspension and the MT-160 series tandem axle in a more efficient pumpless configuration. In addition, there was also strong interest in the Blue Horizon ePowertrain offering from local truck manufacturers.

The Meritor Australia team did a great job pulling the show together in difficult circumstances and assisting customers with their enquiries. We look forward to the next show in 2023.

The coating used on our Meritor MAX Pads are highly abrasive compound applied on thesurface of friction material to provide the following benefits;

n The initial brake applications give confidence to the driver due to reduced stopping distance.n The abrasive coating cleans the disc for contaminations and residues from the previous fitment pads.n The bedding in coating also polishes the disc and reduces the gap between high and low points of the disc.n The bedding in coating is non-hazardous.

What to expect: The compound wears off in about 20-25 brake applications. The coating can be clearly identified by the red colour.

Meritor Australia is proud to appoint Gordon Scott-Worthington replacing Tim Andrew as our new OEM Sales Manager for Truck and Trailer based in Sunshine, Australia.

Gordon grew up in North London, Enfield, and has been around vehicles and machinery from a young age with his father being a Mechanic by trade and owning his own workshop. Gordon comes to Meritor equipped with many years of experience and an undying passion for manufacturing and machinery. A passion which has seen him through completing a 5-year Engineering Degree then moving to Cambridge where his professional career began at Bosch. During Gordon’s time with Bosch, he has taken on many roles and this is where he also crossed paths 19 years ago with a lady from Australia named Sarah, who is now his wife.

Moving on from Bosch, Gordon had the opportunity to try his taste in whiskey, spending a lot of time working in distilleries, installing bottle filling machines and growing a keen liking towards the beverage. This part of his career opened doors to travelling around the world working in places such as Korea, Spain and the United States of America.

In the past 10 years, Gordon spent 2 years travelling between the UK and Australia to visit Sarah; he then decided to get married and make the big move down under. Since then Gordon has worked for Hella Australia for 8 years before being his role with Meritor. With a wife and 2 young boys, Hayden and Oliver, Gordon has hung up his snowboarding and soccer boots with age no longer being a favoring factor for his knees; opting for more modest activities such as golfing, cooking or doing DIY around the home. Gordon also enjoys spending time with his family playing with his young kids, eating out, camping and or adding miles on his new caravan whenever he gets the chance.

Having always enjoyed working for a manufacturer, Gordon is very much interested in the degree of involvement in the process of bringing things together and gaining a better understanding of the product. Having spent extensive time in the automotive industry for aftermarket and OE truck, Gordon feels that Meritor will be the right fit for him with the culture and where he wants to be in his career. We believe he will make a great addition in our Sales team with his level of expertise. Please join us in welcoming Gordon to our growing team.
