BASICS OF THE FAITH What does the Catholic Church believe? What does the
Church teach? Where do we get these teachings? Are you
comfortable discussing your faith with family and friends?
Would you like to update or refresh your knowledge of the
faith?
Here at St. Max we have two ways for you to explore these questions: Join us on the first Sunday of each month at 8:45 to 10:15 am in the Maximilian room (rectory side entrance) for coffee, tea, cake and a PowerPoint presentation on a chapter of the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults (USCCA). The information in the USCCA is supplemented with other sources, including brief video segments. We’re currently studying the Ten Commandments. You’re welcome to attend any or all sessions. No prior knowledge or preparation is required. Our next session is November 1, 2015. The topic will be The Seventh Commandment: Do Not Steal—Act Justly
View outlines and narrated PowerPoints of previous sessions online at your convenience:
www.basicsofthefaith.org. There is a discussion forum for you to post questions or comments.
For further information or to be placed on our email list, please contact Anne Chavez at [email protected].

These two pages contain the names of our children receiving First Penance/First Holy Communion and Confirmation in 2016. We ask that you keep them in your prayers, as well as their parents, teachers and catechists, who are helping them prepare. May God bless them as they receive the graces that flow from these Sacraments.

EARN $$$ FOR THE ST. MAX SCHOOL
The GIANT A+ Rewards program is starting up for
this school year on October 9! Every time you shop at Giant from that date through March 17 and use your Bonus Card, you earn money for St. Max. Last year, we made almost $3100. The program is a week shorter this year, so our goal is to make it to $3000 again. Thanks to all who have signed up. If you have friends, family, or relatives who would like to sign up, you can send their Bonus Card number and the first three letters of the person's last name to Chris Char at [email protected]. Or, you can enter yourself on the website www.giantfoodstores.com and clicking on the savings and rewards tab. Our school number is 25944. You can support two schools with this program, so even if your child attends public school, you can still help our parish by participating. **************** Please note that we encourage you to also to patronize the Shop-Rite market on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) which is owned and operated by a St. Max parishioner who is very generous to the parish for many of our functions.
