Re-Appointments My guess is that some of you may have already heard the news, but I am happy to report that, on June 25, my assignment over at Our Lady of Peace Parish in Geneva will end and I will return to being a full time Parochial Vicar here at St. Francis and St. Clare Parish. I know it has been difficult over these last six months, not being able to minister fully here in the parish, but my time in Geneva has been very rewarding to me, and I am grateful to have been able to help Fr. Mull and the people of Our Lady of Peace Parish any way that I could. At the end of June, Fr. Carlos Sanchez will begin his ministry at Our Lady of Peace. While this has not been an ideal situation, I thank you for understanding and being sensitive to the needs of both of our Parishes. I look forward to returning to St. Francis and St. Clare full time beginning this summer. I do not know exactly what the future will hold for me, but I will continue to cherish the time that I have here in Waterloo and Seneca Falls. I know that the Lord has been and will continue to be watching over both of our parishes, and I ask that you continue to pray for the people of Our Lady of Peace Parish as they go through this transition. Thank you and God bless you all.

Fr. Mike

As pastor of St. Francis and St. Clare Parish, my second six-year term officially ends this June. I asked the Bishop if he would be willing to let me stay on here as pastor. I recently received a letter from the Bishop indicating that he would extend my term until such a time that the Diocese may need me elsewhere. I am very happy about the Bishop’s decision in that I truly enjoy ministering to the people of St. Francis and St. Clare Parish. Fr. Roy will continue with us as well. Fr. Roy is a wonderful asset to our worshipping community. Fr. Jim

Mass on Memorial Day, Monday May 27, 2019, will be at the St. Mary’s Cemetery Rosary Mound at 8:30am

(if it rains then Mass will be at St. Mary’s Church at 8:30 am)

COMMITTEE CORNER

Members of Catholic Daughters Court Theresa #806 recently enjoyed a retreat at The Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse in Rochester. During our retreat we also got to visit Sr. Mary Christopher, Sr. Katherine Judge, and Fr. Eugene Weise. In May we will have our annual Tureen Supper with our members and a guest speaker. As our year winds down we will be making scholarship donations to some of our area parochial schools, participating in the Celebrate/Commemorate Extravaganza, and taking our annual Mystery Ride for dinner with our members. We encourage anyone interested in becoming a new member to contact Linda Nightingale, or any member of Court Theresa.

The Knights of Columbus Council 222will be holding a Chicken BBQ on June 1st 11:00am at the Five Star Bank. All presales must be picked up by 1:00pm. The cost is $10.00 per meal

St. Francis and St. Clare Parish is joining other local churches in organizing our monthly food and hygiene donations. Area clergy have proposed a schedule of specific items to be collected every month by each participating church to ensure food pantries are always fully stocked. At the beginning of each month there will be a notice in the bulletin stating the items our parish will be collecting for the month. We encourage you to donate these specific items, but know that ALL donations are accepted and greatly appreciated.

June items will be: canned meat or fish & diapers

The Social Ministry members and local migrant workers appreciate all the donations of men’s socks and frying pans/griddles this past Lent. Thank you and God Bless you for your generosity.

LAST PANCAKE BREAKFAST WILL BE MAY 28TH. WE WILL RESUME THEM THE 1ST TUESDAY OF SEPTEMBER. VOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED – PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE (315-539-2944) IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PARTAKING IN THIS MINISTRY.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

May 26, 2019

6th Sunday of Easter

“…do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” (JOHN 14:27)

Our limited human understanding cannot begin to understand the immense power of God. Instead of trusting

in God, we think we can control every outcome. Do you want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans. The

next time worry, anxiety or fear creeps in, thank God for all He has given you and trust that He has a better

plan for you.
