Do you struggle to make friends or have trouble meeting new people? Most people have “been there, done that” when it comes to social anxiety – meeting new people can be hard! The biggest fear is that you’ll walk into a room of people that all seem to know each other and feel embarrassed or rejected. If this has kept you from coming to youth events, please keep this in mind – new people come all the time! Some get invited by friends, but others just decide to check it out for themselves. It’s not as unusual or strange at all. And, more people are looking to meet new people than you might think! It’s true that if you stay home you won’t have to deal with the anxiety, but you have a lot to gain if you can stick it out and find a group of people you love to hang out with! Being alone isn’t a bad thing, but being a part of a loving community is a wonderful thing. If you stay home, nothing will change, but if you check out an event something great might happen. I hope you plan to put a little WEMO Youth into your summer…..and are glad you did!
