    LeeAndra( Andie)Ruppleisawesome. Having just turned 10years old, she towers over mostof the kids in her 5th grade class,and still manages to get down onthe floor to be with her belovedanimals!

    Her height and love for animalsare only the beginning of Andiesawesomeness. As a memberand Treasurer of the LuckyClovers 4-H Club, she

    participated in and won manyawards for her 2012 projects.

    For this year, Andie won 1st placeat the Denver County Fair inPoultry, Photography and JuniorPoultry Showmanship.

    Andie represented Denverat the Colorado

    State Fair, andeven won theJunior.Showmanshipcompetition inPoultry.

    Andie will tell you her PrizeWinning Pullet, who goes by thename, Pretty Girl, is awesometoo. A five month-old Black

    Australorp Pullet, Pretty Girl (andAndie) won Grand Champion

    English Class,of Breed (1stplace) andGrand Champion inthe Large Foul division.

    Fairly new to these types ofcompetitions (just like Denvers 4-H clubs), Andie managed to wineven though other 4-Herscompeting with her have years ofexperience!

    Andies mom Sancie attributesher daughters success toAndies dedicated practiceschedule with her Australorp,Frizzle, rabbit and Guinea Pig,where she polishes up onshowmanship skills and readsthe project and fair standards,so she is ready for thejudges.

    4-H and animals is not theonly place Andie puts herdedication. She trainingfor the 1st Degree for herBlack Belt in Tae KwonDo, she plays the pianoloves to paint, cook shehas already picked her

    plums and apricots off the

    trees and made them into jamread,collecting Breyer horses anddelving into photography. Themore art, the betterAndie isalready working on stained glpieces.

    Andie loves 4-H and she lovehelp other 4-Hers with their

    animals and projects.While Andie loves to show he

    poultry and working with her,guinea pig, dog, cat and somefish, her newest venture will badding Polish Rabbits in 4-H tyear.

    Becky brings heart to kidsas Denver 4-H cookingleader

    We wouldike to give a special thanks to aDenver 4-H volunteer BeckyRevoal. Becky has beennstrumental in creating asustainable 4-H program at

    St. Charles Recreation Center.She has gone abroad for atime, but her impact has beengreat, as she inspired andcollaborated with youth atDenver 4-H for years.

    For 2 hours its not about me, come in and listen the kidsstories and we makesomething, said Becky while

    preparing cooking class.

    Becky previously worked for MileHigh Youth Corps and has beenworking in youth development andnational service for the past tenyears. She is currently working ona Masters Degree inOrganizational Leadership throughCSU Global.

    Being a 4-H Volunteer has givenBecky the opportunity to createmeaningful relationships andlasting memories. It has alsotaught her the importance onepersons role plays in otherpeoples lives. Out of the four Hs,Heart, Health, Head and Hands,Beckys favorite is heart,everything takes heart, you cantdo anything without heart, saidBecky.

    Denver 4-H is lucky to have the2011 Denver 4-H Volunteer of theYear, sharing her time and skillswith the youth in our community.Thank you Becky, for caring out the4-H mission and making a positivechange!

    shares bright ideas for4H program

    4-Hyouth make Denver a greatcity.

    We are proud of all the 4-HProgram participants that have

    joined the revolution ofresponsibility with Denver 4-H.Youth around Denver set forth apositive change by participating in4-H programs when they are notin school. Lets take a look at anexisting member we are proud of:

    Amena Nelson has been a 4-Hmember for 3 years. The firstthing you will notice about Amena is her

    respect towards others andattentiveness in program. Amenaparticipates in cooking and in art at St.Charles Recreation Center. She is a

    strong leader and is always willing toshow the new students how to completevarious tasks, says cooking leaderBecky.

    Amenas favorite class is cookingbecause she likes making new thingsand wants to create a cook book usingthe recipes from 4H cooking class. Allthe proceeds would go to ingredients formore fun recipes and for fun outings withthe whole class. Amena added thatparticipating in 4-H projects is really fun!
