ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPCOMING EVENTS No Wednesday Evening Services We will not have any Wednesday evening activities this week so that you may enjoy time with your families over the Christmas break. Poinsettias If you purchased a poinsettia, please take it home with you today. Thank you for allowing us to decorate the sanctuary in honor or in memory of your loved one. What Does the Cross Mean to You? Pastor Melissa is looking for ten people who would be willing to write a one- page reflection on what the cross means to them. Persons would share their writing in services during 2018. Please mark your blue cards if you are interested. Crosses Needed If you have freestanding crosses you would allow us to borrow during January, please mark your blue card. Crosses can be brought in and given to Susan at the Welcome Desk. Please put your name on the bottom. Addiction Recovery Meetings – Fridays If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please consider coming to our weekly addiction recovery group that meets in the Student Center every Friday evening at 7PM. This is a one-hour meeting. Adult Co-ed Volleyball League – Tri County YMCA Monday evenings starting at 7:45pm from January 15th through April 9th (10 week season with double elimination playoff tournament). Our Co-Ed Adult Volleyball League is for adults providing 2 divisions, advanced & recreational, to meet your skill level & competitive interest. Volleyball provides a great workout & is a great way to meet people & make friends. FEE: Members:$20 / Non-Members:$40. The Sounds of Christmas Piano CD Janet Senseman's newest piano CD is available for sale at the Welcome Desk. The CD features all Christmas music and the vocal stylings of Chris and Alison Vance. The CD is $15.00 and all proceeds will benefit the Building Fund. Please make checks payable directly to Janet Senseman. IMPACT – That’ll Leave A Mark Book Pastor Melissa's book, IMPACT-That'll Leave a Mark, is now on sale for $10.99 at the Welcome Desk. All proceeds go to our Building Fund. Please make checks payable directly to Melissa Pratt. New Year’s Eve Party – 12/31 Everyone is invited to the Pratt’s home for food, fellowship and fun beginning at 6:30PM. Please bring an appetizer to share. The address is 149 Beechwood Estates in Scott Depot. Come into Beechwood and bear left and they are the 4 th house on the left. CWC Meeting – 01/02 Ladies of all ages are welcome to attend the monthly Christian Women’s Connection meeting held the first Tuesday of the month at 7PM in the fellowship hall. This is an opportunity to fellowship with other women and work together to minister to those on the mission field. Let’s “Undeck” the Halls! – 01/03 We will be taking down the Christmas decorations after church on Wednesday, January 3 rd following the service. If you could help at 8PM for just a little while we should be able to take everything down quickly. Baptism – 01/07 We will be having baptism again on January 7th. If you are interested in being baptized, please mark your blue card. One of the staff will be in touch about a short prep class. Voices of Praise Choir Resumes 1/14 Voices of Praise will resume rehearsals on January 14, 2018 at 4PM in the Sanctuary. If you would like to be added to this ministry of music please indicate that on your blue card to let Pastor Mandy know. Voices of Praise is open to all youth (6th grade and up) and adults who are born-again and have made TVCOG their home church. Young Families Lunch – 01/14 Young families (with or without kids) are invited to lunch at Rio Grande after the second service on Sunday, January 14 th from 12:15PM – 2PM. LET US BABYSIT AND FEED your kids here at the church so you can fellowship together. If you have an infant that you would prefer to take with you to lunch that is great too! Mark your blue card if you can attend so we know how to plan for childcare. Young at Heart – 01/17 All those 55 and over are invited to come for our monthly luncheon on Wednesday, January 17th at noon. This month we will be meeting in the Student Center. Bring your special talents to share, as well as your favorite dish! Pizza with the Pastors – 01/21 If you are new to TVCOG or have never attended a newcomer’s lunch, we invite you to come to the Student Center on Sunday, January 21 st following the second service. This is a great opportunity to meet the staff and learn about the beliefs and vision of the church. Please mark your blue card with the number of people that will be attending. Ladies’ Game Night – 01/23 Ladies, It is time for a fun night out! Bring an appetizer and games and join us Tuesday, January 23 rd at 7PM in the Student Center for a night of games, food and laughter! Ladies of all ages are welcome! Please mark your blue card. NEW GriefShare Session – 01/24 New Griefshare class begins Wednesday, January 24 th at 6:30PM. If you or someone you know has lost a loved one, this class may be an excellent first step toward emotional and spiritual healing. Please mark your blue card or contact Pastor Brenda at [email protected] to enroll. Cost for book is $20. The 13-week course is free. New DivorceCare Session – 01/24 If you or someone you know is divorced or separated this 13-week course may help you through the difficult transition. Classes begin Wednesday, January 24 th at 6:30pm from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Cost is $20 for workbook. Free ACT Math Review – 02/03 If you have a student planning to take the ACT, please take advantage of this free ACT Math Review led by teacher, Angie Nottingham, on February 3 rd from 10AM-noon. Please mark your blue card if you would like to sign up. Couple’s Valentine’s Dinner – 02/10 We will be having a buffet dinner at Fireside Grill on Saturday, February 10th at 6:00PM. A reservation is needed and the cost will be $35 per couple in advance (checks payable to TVCOG, marked “Valentines Dinner”) and will include meat, pasta and vegetables, as well as drinks and desserts. This is always a fun time of games, laughter and fellowship.
